Henry Graybill Lamar
Henry Graybill Lamar (July 10, 1798 – September 10, 1861) was a United States Representative, lawyer and jurist from Georgia. Lamar was born in Clinton, Georgia, in 1798. He studied law, gained admittance to the state bar and practiced law in Macon, Georgia. He served as a state superior court judge before being elected to the Georgia House of Representatives. In 1828, Lamar was elected as a Jacksonian Representative from Georgia to the 21st United States Congress to fill the remainder of the term for the vacant seat resulting from the resignation of George Rockingham Gilmer George Rockingham Gilmer (April 11, 1790 – November 16, 1859) was an American politician. Rose Hill Cemetery (Macon, Georgia)
Rose Hill Cemetery is a 50-acre cemetery located on the banks of the Ocmulgee River in Macon, Georgia, Macon, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States of America, United States, that opened in 1840. Simri Rose, a horticulturist and designer of the cemetery, was instrumental in the planning of the city of Macon and planned Rose Hill Cemetery in return for being able to choose his own burial plot. The cemetery is named in his honor. Rose Hill Cemetery was a hangout and artistic inspiration for the Allman Brothers Band during their early years. The Allman Brothers' slide guitarist Duane Allman, keyboardist and vocalist Gregg Allman, drummer Butch Trucks and bassist Berry Oakley are interred here. William Schley
William Schley (December 15, 1786 – November 20, 1858) was an American lawyer, jurist, and politician. Biography Schley was born on December 15 (some sources say December 10), 1786 in Frederick, Maryland, the original locus and domicile of the Schley family in North America. With others of the family he migrated to Augusta, Georgia, in the early 19th century, where he was educated at the academies of Louisville, Georgia, Louisville and Augusta, Georgia. He later studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1812 and practiced law in Augusta. From 1825 through 1828 he was a Superior Court judge of the Middle District in Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. In 1830 William Schley became a member of the Georgia House of Representatives. Tomlinson Fort (congressman)
Tomlinson Fort (July 14, 1787 – May 11, 1859) was a doctor, politician, and banker in the state of Georgia during the first half of the nineteenth century. He was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives and United States House of Representatives from Georgia. Early years and education Fort was born in Warrenton, Georgia on July 14, 1787. He completed preparatory studies and then embarked on the study of medicine. In 1809, he received one term of medical training at the Philadelphia Medical College, and commenced practice in 1810. It was a medical career which eventually spanned four decades. Shortly after taking up the practice of medicine, during the War of 1812, Fort enlisted in a volunteer company of Georgia Militia, and was elected captain.
