Henry Foss High School
Henry Foss High School is an American high school in Tacoma, Washington. Named after civic leader and tugboat tycoon Henry Foss, the school first opened in 1973. Foss was the first high school in Washington state to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. It now has the longest-running IB Diploma Program west of the Mississippi in the USA. It is currently a part of the Tacoma Public Schools. History In 1982, Foss became the first high school in Washington state to introduce the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP). In the spring of 2001, the school was selected by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as an Achiever High School in Washington State. The school received a $9 million grant to restructure college preparation efforts, as well as an additional $100 million in scholarships. Tacoma ( ) is the county seat of Pierce County, Washington, United States. Eduardo M. Peñalver is an American law professor who is the president of Seattle University. From 2014 until 2021, Peñalver was dean of Cornell Law School. Peñalver has served as the President of Seattle University since July 1, 2021, and is a Professor of Law at its Law School. Brent Goulet (born June 19, 1964) is a retired American soccer forward who later coached SV Elversberg from 2004 to 2008. He began his career in the United States before moving to England and Germany, and also earned eight caps with the U.S. national team. Nick Edwards (born February 24, 1984) is an Australian-born American former rugby union player. He played for the USA Eagles sevens team and made his debut in 2009. Career In 2013, Edwards along with 16 other players signed residency contracts with USA Rugby.
