Henry Fisher (MP For Maidstone)
Henry Fisher (fl. 1586) was an English politician. Along with Nicholas Barham, Fisher was one of the first Members of Parliament to represent the borough of Maidstone, which had only recently been chartered. They were part of the 2nd Parliament of Queen Elizabeth I. In addition to his term in Parliament, he was recorder and town clerk for Maidstone from 1559 until his death in 1584. Henry Fisher (judge)
Sir Henry Arthur Pears Fisher (20 January 1918 – 10 April 2005) was an English lawyer who served as a judge of the High Court of England and Wales and as President of Wolfson College, Oxford. Early life and education Fisher was born at The Hall, Repton, Derbyshire, the eldest of six sons of Geoffrey Francis Fisher, Baron Fisher of Lambeth, at the time of Harry's birth the headmaster of Repton, later Bishop of Chester and of London, and Archbishop of Canterbury. A younger brother was Charles, who would become headmaster of three independent schools in Australia. Fisher went to school at Marlborough College and went on to Christ Church, Oxford where in 1938 he obtained a First in Classical Honour Moderations. His Literae Humaniores studies were curtailed by the outbreak of World War II, and after a year and a half he took a War Degree (unclassified). Henry Francis Fisher (in German ''Heinrich Franz Fischer'', 1805–1867) was a notable German Texan. Born in Kassel, Hesse in 1805, Fisher left the mainland in late 1833 spending a year each, in London and New York, and two in New Orleans. He crossed over into Texas either in 1837 or early 1838, stopping in Houston, Texas where he served as consul to the Hanseatic League ( Bremen) Texas. He became interested in the exploration and colonization of the San Saba, Texas area and in 1839 was acting treasurer of the San Saba Company, which was later reorganized as the San Saba Colonization Company.
