Henry County Courthouse (Iowa)
The Henry County Courthouse is located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, United States, the county seat of Henry County. It was built in 1914, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. History The first buildings used by Henry County government when it was organized in 1837 was a series of log cabins in Mount Pleasant. This was a typical practice of most counties in Iowa. Plans for the first courthouse were accepted in June 1837, but construction of the structure was delayed and the building was not completed until 1839. The second courthouse was a remodeled version of Hill Hall, which was built in 1870. The present courthouse replaced it on the same property in 1914. It was built by English Brothers from Champaign, Illinois. Henry County Courthouse (Illinois)
The Henry County Courthouse, located at 307 West Center Street in Cambridge, is the county courthouse serving Henry County, Illinois. Built in 1878–1880, the courthouse is the fourth used in Henry County and the second built in Cambridge. Prominent Midwestern architects T. J. Tolan and Son designed the courthouses in the Second Empire style. The courthouse's four facades each feature three pavilions, one at the center and one at each edge; the main facade on the east side has a clock tower atop its central pavilion. The building's mansard roof includes several dormers and is surrounded by a dentillated cornice. Decorative stone elements such as moldings, belt courses, and quoins are used throughout the building. Henry County Courthouse (Indiana)
The Henry County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana, USA, on the land designated as court house square by the Henry County Commissioners. The Court House was built between 1865 and 1869 at a cost of $120,000. An annex was added in 1905 at a cost of $44,000. ''Note:'' This includes and Accompanying photographs. When it was built the commissioners wanted a fireproof courthouse. They did not want to see the courthouse burn again as it had in 1865. Architect Isaac Hodgson provided them with what they wanted, but with a mansard roof and a 110-foot clock tower. The mansard roof was unusual for a midwestern public building in the 1860s. It became popular later, but the Henry County Court House was probably the earliest example of the style for public buildings in the midwest. The Henry County Courthouse, Jail, and Warden's House in New Castle, Kentucky was built in 1875. It was designed by the McDonald Brothers in a mix of Italianate, Second Empire, and other styles. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It is a six-bay two-story brick building on a rusticated stone foundation. A stone jail and brick jailer's house extend to the rear, making the overall plan T-shaped. With .
