Henry Anderson (1484 – 1559) was an English politician who represented Newcastle-upon-Tyne and served once as Sheriff, as Mayor four times, was elected to the House of Commons in the Reformation Parliament in 1529, and was the first Governor of the Merchant Adventurers of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Background Henry Anderson was the son of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne merchant John Anderson and his wife Marian Lockwood, the daughter of Thomas Lockwood of Richmondshire, Yorkshire. Thomas Lockwood had previously been Sheriff (1471–72) and Mayor (1488–89) of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Career Anderson was Sheriff (1520–21), Alderman (by 1524) then Mayor of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (1532–33, 1539–40, 1542–43, 1546–47). Henry Anderson (1545 – 1605) was an English landowner and politician who was elected to represent Newcastle-upon-Tyne once as Sheriff, three times as Mayor, and four times as MP in the House of Commons between 1584 and 1593 and was also Sheriff of Northumberland. Sir Henry Anderson (1582–1659) was an English Royalist landowner and politician who represented Newcastle-upon-Tyne once as Mayor and twice as MP in the House of Commons between 1614 and 1643 and was also High Sheriff of Northumberland. Early life Anderson was the son of Henry Anderson (d.1605) of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, and his second wife Fortune Collingwood, daughter of Sir Cuthbert Collingwood of Eslington, Northumberland. Henry Wyatt Anderson (born August 3, 1991) is an American football defensive end for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Stanford, and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Early years Anderson attended Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia. He played football there under head coach Mark Miller, and he had 183 tackles and 20.5 sacks during his career. Henry Lawrence Anderson (2 June 1867 – 29 October 1914) was an Indian first-class cricketer and British Indian Army officer. Life and military career Born in Lucknow in 1867, Anderson was educated at Dulwich College. Appointed in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in August 1888, he was stationed in British India by January 1890, as he appeared in an amateur cricket match for Bombay Gymkhana in that month. Anderson was promoted to lieutenant on 26 March 1890 and the following month transferred to the Indian Staff Corps. He appeared in a second amateur match in December 1892 for Poona Gymkhana against Lord Hawke's XI during their tour of Ceylon and India in 1892-93. Henry James Anderson (February 6, 1799 – October 19, 1875) was an American scientist and educator who worked with the great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Dallas Bache. He became Knight Commander, President of the Particular Council of New York, and Head of the Supreme Council. Biography He was born in New York City, and graduated from Columbia College in 1818, he subsequently studied medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. He did not practice medicine for long however, instead devoting himself to scientific and literary pursuits. Henry Pope Anderson (December 14, 1927October 24, 2016) was a farm labor union organizer, activist, author, and historian. He studied the Bracero program (an agricultural guest-worker program) as a graduate student in Public Health at the University of California. He was Director of Research at Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC), an early AFL/CIO-sponsored effort to unionize farm workers. Anderson organized and led Citizens for Farm Labor, a San Francisco Bay Area-based group that supported farm labor organization activities.
