Henrik Strindberg
Henrik Strindberg (born 28 March 1954) is a Swedish composer of contemporary music. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1980 to 1987 where he studied for Gunnar Bucht and Sven-David Sandström amongst others. In 1985 he also participated in a summer course with Iannis Xenakis in Delphi. Apart from composing, he has been a member of the progressive rock band Ragnarök since the 1970s. His music has been performed by acclaimed ensembles such as Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kroumata, Sonanza and The Gothenburg Combo. Kroumata
Kroumata was a Swedish professional percussion ensemble which was active from 1978 until 2015. The name derived from the ancient Greek word for percussion instruments. The group was founded in Stockholm in 1978 by Ingvar Hallgren, Anders Holdar, Jan Hellgren och Martin Steisner. Its members had worked as percussionists in the military services in Sweden, and their aim was to perform percussion chamber music. In 1990, Kroumata entered into a contract with the nonprofit foundation Rikskonserter, which was a part of the Swedish Ministry of Culture. From 1990 until 2008, the ensemble was employed by Rikskonserter. Kroumata toured extensively in Sweden and internationally, and performed with orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Berliner Symphoniker, as well as separately as a solo ensemble. Contemporary Classical Music In Sweden
Contemporary history, in English-language historiography, is a subset of modern history that describes the historical period from approximately 1945 to the present. Contemporary history is either a subset of the late modern period, or it is one of the three major subsets of modern history, alongside the early modern period and the late modern period. The Gothenburg Combo is a classical guitar duo from Sweden. It has toured and performed in the US, China, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Estonia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Albania and Sweden. Their repertoire contains contemporary, classical and popular music. They have performed very virtuous pieces by the likes of Henrik Strindberg, Steve Reich and Mauricio Kagel. Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra
The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra ( sv, Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester) is a Swedish radio orchestra based in Stockholm, affiliated with Sveriges Radio (Sweden's Radio). Its principal performing venue is the Berwaldhallen (Berwald Hall). The orchestra broadcasts concerts on the Swedish Radio-P2 network. History One of the precursor ensembles to the current orchestra was the ''Radioorkestern'' (Radio Orchestra), whose chief conductors included Nils Grevillius (1927–1939) and Tor Mann (1939–1959). In 1965, the ''Radioorkestern'' was merged with another orchestra from Swedish Radio, the ''Underhållningsorkestern'' (Entertainment Orchestra), under the new name of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Composer
A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and Definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together".
