Henrik Samuelsson
Henrik Samuelsson (born February 7, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey player of Swedish ancestry. He is currently playing for HK Levice in the Slovak 1. Liga. Samuelsson was most recently with the Manchester Storm of the UK EIHL . Previously, he played with the Worcester Railers of the ECHL, Modo Hockey in the Swedish Hockey League and the Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career As a youth, Samuelsson played in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Phoenix, Arizona. Samuelsson was drafted twenty-seventh overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft whilst playing major junior hockey for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Idaho Steelheads
The Idaho Steelheads are an American professional minor league ice hockey team based in Boise, Idaho, and a member of the ECHL. The Steelheads play in the Mountain Division of the ECHL's Western Conference since the 2016–17 season. In 1996, the Steelheads were announced as a 1997–98 expansion team by Diamond Sports Management, headed by Cord Pereira, as a member of the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL). 2016–17 AHL Season
The 2016–17 AHL season was the 81st season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 14, 2016, and ended on April 15, 2017. The 2017 Calder Cup playoffs began on April 20, 2017. Regular season The AHL had a slight alignment shift with the addition of the Tucson Roadrunners to the one-year-old Pacific Division, bringing the division member total up to eight. It also created an unbalanced conference alignment with the Western Conference having 16 members and the Eastern Conference containing 14 members. Similar to the season scheduling in the previous season, the five California based teams, plus the new Tucson team, continue to play a 68-game season while the rest of the AHL teams play a 76-game season.
