Henrik Rödl
Henrik Markus Rödl (born 4 March 1969) is a German professional basketball coach and former player, who currently serves as head coach for Al Ittihad Alexandria of the Egyptian Basketball Super League (EBSL). He played college basketball in the US for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. Born in Offenbach am Main, Hesse, he has been credited for his role in bringing other European players, including fellow German Ademola Okulaja, into the North Carolina basketball program. A 2.01 m (6' 7") shooting guard/small forward, Rödl had great success and a number of championships over a long career in American collegiate and international professional basketball. Amateur career Rödl was spotted by Smith's staff while he was an exchange student at Chapel Hill High School, a school located only a few miles from UNC's campus. Egyptian Basketball Super League
The Egyptian Basketball Super League, also known as the Egyptian Basketball Premier League A, is the top professional basketball division of the Egyptian basketball league system. Administrated by the Egyptian Basketball Federation (EBBFED), it is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Egyptian Basketball Premier League B and replaced by the top two teams in that division. German Basketball Cup
Basketball Bundesliga-Pokal, commonly known as the BBL-Pokal, is the annual national basketball cup competition in Germany. Since 2009, the title has been awarded to the winner of a tournament competition between top clubs of each Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) season. History and format The competition was founded in 1966, by the German Basketball Federation. The first final of the German Basketball Cup took place on 11 June 1967, in Oberhausen. Since 1993, the cup championship is decided in a final four format, which is held over one weekend. The host team of the cup's final four, is automatically set as one of the participants. The three remaining teams are determined by three quarterfinal matches, played between the winners of the earlier round matches. Starting from the 2018–19 season, the format was changed to a sixteen team knock-out tournament, with the sixteen highest seeded teams from the previous season qualifying.
