Henrik Maarud
Henrik Maarud (born 4 April 1983 in Nes, Norway) is a Norwegian drummer. He plays in the blues rock band The Grand together with his older brother, the guitarist and vocalist Amund Maarud. Career Together with his brother Amund, he started the 'MaarudKara' as a four-year-old, where their father was backing on bass in addition to the Simen Aanerud (known as Simon Taylor) on piano. Initially the repertoire consisted of pop music, but eventually they converted to blues music. The band was second in "Talentiaden" at NRK in 1997, and released the album ''First Blues'' (1999). In 2000 Amund focused on solo career with Henry as the drummer within the 'Amund Maarud Band'. They released the album ''Ripped, Stripped and Southern Fried'' (2003), and was nominated for Spellemannprisen 2003, in the category Blues. Nes is a municipality in Akershus in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Årnes. Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Nes'' farm (Old Norse: ''Nes'' which means "headland"), since the first church was built here. History and profile ''Romerikes Blad'' was established by Martin Julius Halvorsen in 1902 in Jessheim under the name ''Akershusingen'', and was affiliated with the Norwegian Labour Party. Christoffer "Kid" Andersen (born 15 January 1980) is a blues guitarist from Herre, Norway. By age 11, Andersen had gained the attention of Norwegian blues guitar teacher, Morten Omlid, who steered him towards traditional blues music. In 2001, at age 21, Andersen moved to the United States, joined blues frontman Terry Hanck's band, and quickly became a figure on the West Coast blues scene.
