Henri Swinkels
Henri Swinkels (born 25 October 1963) is a Dutch politician of the Socialist Party. He served as a temporary member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands in 2014. Between 2015 and 2019 he was a member of the Provincial-Executive of North Brabant. Career Swinkels was born on 25 October 1963 in Vught. He worked as a trainer at the trade union FNV between 1992 and 1999. He then started working as a trainings coordinator for the Nederlandse Politiebond, a Dutch trade union for police officers. He was in this position until January 2014 when he joined the Socialist Party group in the House of Representatives of the Netherlands as fraction employee concerned with social affairs and employment. He served as a temporary member of the House of Representatives from 14 May 2014 until 29 May 2014 when he replaced Renske Leijten Renske Maria Leijten (born 17 March 1979) is a Dutch politician of the Socialist Party. Provincial-Executive (Netherlands)
The provincial executive (, GS) is the executive branch of government of a province in the Netherlands. It is the equivalent of the municipal executive at the provincial level. The provincial executive consists of the King's Commissioner (chair) and three to seven deputies (). The deputies are chosen by the provincial council, the elected assembly of the province. Each deputy has their own portfolio for which they prepare, coordinate and plan policy and legislation for the provincial council and execute legislation. The deputies have the duty to inform the provincial council on all aspects of their policy. The provincial executive functions as a collegial body and most decisions are taken by consensus. North Brabant ( nl, Noord-Brabant ; Brabantian: ; ), also unofficially called Brabant, is a province in the south of the Netherlands. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. The Socialist Party ( nl, Socialistische Partij, ; abbreviated as SP, ) is a democratic socialist political party in the Netherlands. The Federation of Dutch Trade Unions ( nl, Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging, FNV) is a national trade union centre in the Netherlands. In addition to member unions, workers in many sectors can join the FNV directly. History The FNV was founded in 1976 from the merger of the Dutch Catholic Trade Union Federation (NKV) and the social-democratic Dutch Confederation of Trade Unions (NVV). The Protestant Christian National Trade Union Federation (CNV) originally also participated in the talks, but it refused to fully merge into a new union. The federation was founded because of declining membership, due to depillarisation and increasing political polarisation between left and right. Renske Leijten
Renske Maria Leijten (born 17 March 1979) is a Dutch politician of the Socialist Party. She has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2006. She focuses on matters of public health, quality of life and sports. From 6 February 2014 until 29 May 2014 she was temporarily absent due to maternity leave, she was first replaced by Tjitske Siderius, and since 14 May 2014 by Henri Swinkels. Since 2005 she has been a member of SP's party executive committee. From 2005 to 2007 she was also chairwoman of SP's youth organization ROOD.
