Friedrich ("Fritz") Karl Henkel (* March 20, 1848 in Vöhl; † March 1, 1930 in Rengsdorf) was a German entrepreneur and founder of the Henkel Group. Early life Fritz Henkel was born as the fifth child of his parents, the teacher Johann Jost Henkel (1809-1874) from Wallau an der Lahn and his wife Johanette Philippine (1807-1881), born Jüngst. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Elberfeld, where he began an apprenticeship at the Gessert brothers paint and varnish factory. After finishing his apprenticeship he worked his way up to become the company's procurator (authorized agent). . Persil is a German brand of laundry detergent manufactured and marketed by Henkel around the world except in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Latin America (except Mexico), China, Australia and New Zealand, where it is manufactured and marketed by Unilever. Simone Bagel-Trah (born 1969) is a German businesswoman and Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Shareholders' Committee of Henkel. Early life and education Bagel-Trah's mother is Anja Bohlan, an economist and academic who published several books. Her father is Fritz Bagel.
