Henk Vogels
Hendricus "Henk" Vogels (born 31 July 1973, in Perth) is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer who retired from competition at the end of the 2008 season, riding with the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team. He won the Australian national road race title in 1999. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He was subsequently directeur sportif of the Fly V-Successful Living team. Vogels also provides expert opinion for SBS Cycling Central. Vogels served as sports director of the team in 2014, however he left the team at the end of the season in order to take a break from the sport in 2015 and spend more time with his family. In 2019 he was announced as the sports director of the Australian ARA Pro Racing cycling team, based in Queensland. His father, Henk Vogels Sr, was a former Australian cyclist who competed in the team pursuit at the 1964 Summer Olympics. The 2006 Tour de Georgia was a six-stage race held April 18 through April 23, 2006 with the overall title won by Floyd Landis of the . American Fred Rodriguez () claimed the points jersey for sprinters. Jason McCartney () won his second KOM crown; he previously won the 2004 climbers title. Herald Sun Tour
The Herald Sun Tour is an Australian professional bicycle race held in Melbourne and provincial Victoria, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first tour was held in October 1952 as a six-day event. It is now held annually over five days in February. It is named after the ''Herald Sun'', Melbourne's only daily tabloid newspaper. It was originally known as the Sun Tour after ''The Sun News-Pictorial'', and changed its name when ''The Sun News-Pictorial'' merged with '' The Herald'' in 1990. History In 1952 the first general classification winner was Keith Rowley, a Maffra sheep farmer, in a time of 42 h 57 min 55 s. Gent–Wevelgem, officially Gent–Wevelgem – In Flanders Fields, is a road bicycle racing, road cycling race in Belgium, held annually since 1934. It is one of the classic cycle races, classic races part of the Flemish Cycling Week, run in late March on the last Sunday before the Tour of Flanders. Although the event is often called a ''cycling sprinter, sprinters classic'' due to its flat finishing terrain, its early-season date means riders are often tested by wind and rain, as well as several climbs, including two ascents of the steep and fully cobbled Kemmelberg. Tour de Beauce is a men's elite professional road bicycle racing multi-day event held each June in the Beauce region of Quebec, Canada since 1986. It is the oldest stage-race in North America, and is a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-rated 2.2 continental circuit stage race on the UCI America Tour. The Queen Stage of the Tour de Beauce features the ascension of the iconic Mont-Mégantic National Park, a 6-km climb averaging 10% and peaking at 18% on the highest elevation road in the Province of Quebec. Vuelta Asturias is a professional cycle road race held in Spain in early May each year. The event was first run in 1925 but has not been held consistently until 1968 to present. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. On 25 April 2014, the Vuelta Asturias was suspended one week before its start due to the lack of funds and sponsors. Paris–Tours is a French one-day classic road cycling race held every October from the outskirts of Paris to the cathedral city of Tours. It is a predominantly flat course through the Chevreuse and Loire valleys; the highest point is 200 m, at Le Gault-du-Perche.
