Henk Spaan
Hendrik Gerardus Maria Spaan (born 30 September 1948) is a Dutch sports journalist, television presenter, author, and columnist. Spaan is best known for a series of Dutch-language TV programs he developed in collaboration with Harry Vermeegen between 1982 and 1996 including ''Pisa'', ''Verona'', ''Die 2'' and ''Die 2: Nieuwe Koeien''. Biography Early life Spaan grew up in Tuinstad Slotermeer in Amsterdam. He studied Dutch writing and linguistics between 1968 and 1973 as an undergraduate at the University of Amsterdam. Spaan would never make use of the teaching certification that he received upon the completion of his studies. While in university Spaan worked as the editor of the student publication Propria Cures. Following graduation, he became a columnist for the newspapers ''Het Parool'' en de ''Haagse Post''. He was only 23 years old at the time. Heerhugowaard
Heerhugowaard (; West Frisian Dutch: ''Heerhugoweard'', ''Heregeweard'' or ''De Weard'') is a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West Friesland. Heerhugowaard was previously a municipality, which merged with the former municipality of Langedijk into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard on 1 January 2022. History Around the year 800, the area of the modern municipality of Heerhugowaard was covered in peat fen. Because of peat-digging and storm floods many lakes developed in the region, including the Heerhugowaard. The name is derived from lord ('heer' in Dutch) Hugo van Assendelft who was killed by the West Frisians in this area in 1296. After two storms in 1248, the abbey of Egmond, which had much property in this region, built the ''Schagerdam'' at Schagen. ''Baantjer'' is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. In 1999, RTL 4 broadcast the television film '' Baantjer, de film: De Cock en de wraak zonder einde'' because of the tenth anniversary of the network. NPO 1 (''NPO een'', formerly Nederland 1 until 2014) is the first national television station in the Netherlands. It launched on 2 October 1951. Hugo Borst
Hugo Borst (born 15 June 1962, Rotterdam) is a Dutch writer, editor, TV personality and critic (best known for his football critiques). Career Borst finished school when he was 18, the so-called havo. Although he never played professional football, he became a journalist for the magazine ''Voetbal International'' in 1985. After working for ''Voetbal International'' for six years he started to write for another magazine, ''Panorama''. He did that for three years only. He now writes columns for the ''Algemeen Dagblad'' (mostly about Football) as well for the magazine ''Esquire'', about love and sex. Anna Enquist (born 19 July 1945) is the pen name of one of the more popular authors in the Netherlands, Christa Widlund-Broer. She is known for both her poetry and her novels. Biography Born in Amsterdam, Enquist studied piano at the music academy in The Hague and psychology at Leiden University. Her first poems appeared in the journal ''Maatstaf'' in 1988, while her first collection ''Soldatenliederen'' (Soldiers' Songs) was published in 1991, while she was still working as a psychoanalyst. Matthijs van Nieuwkerk (; born 8 September 1960) is a Dutch journalist and television presenter. He is best known for hosting the daily ''De Wereld Draait Door'' (DWDD) television show from 2005 to 2020. Biography Matthijs van Nieuwkerk was born in Amsterdam. In 1980 he started his study Dutch language at the University of Amsterdam, which he never finished. With his childhood friend Mark van den Heuvel, van Nieuwkerk started his career in journalism interviewing sportsmen and sportswomen for the Dutch newspaper ''Het Parool''. Interviewees included chess grandmasters Kasparov and Karpov, and footballer Johnny Rep. PowNed
PowNed is a Dutch broadcaster, which transmits radio and television programmes on the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. Each weekday evening it airs a satirical news show called ''PowNews'' on Nederland 3, in which politicians and other public and non-public figures are confronted with provocative questions, and often ridiculed. The broadcaster was affiliated with and was started up with the help of the popular GeenStijl shock blog. The director of PowNed is Dominique Weesie (who also presents ''PowNews'') and their star reporter is Rutger Castricum.
