Hendon Park is a 12 hectare London suburban park situated north west of Charing Cross. It borders the Northern line, and Hendon Park and Northern line Railway Cutting are a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation. It also has an outdoor gym,(added in 2016) a playground, a café, and a stairway-bridge connecting the park near to Brent Cross. The park also offers tennis and basketball courts as well, and contains approximately 4-5 entrances from different areas of the park. The park is also protected by the London Borough of Barnet, and is situated between Hendon, Brent Cross, and 2 bus stops via 83! History Hendon Park was part of a medieval estate known as the Steps Fields and owned by the Goodyer family. From 1868 till 1903 it was owned by the Kemp family when Hendon Council opened the park to the public. The borough of Hendon became part of the larger London Borough of Barnet in April 1965. Kenton is a district in north-west London, England, to the east of Harrow, London, Harrow and historically in Middlesex. The London Borough of Barnet, on the northern outskirts of London, is mainly residential, but it has large areas of green space and farmland. The spread of suburban development into the countryside was halted by the designation of a statutory Green Belt around London after the Second World War, and almost one third of Barnet's area of is Green Belt. Without this control, Barnet would be very different today, and this list of nature reserves would be much shorter. Green Flag Award
The Green Flag Award is an international accreditation given to publicly accessible parks and open spaces, managed under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, a UK Government department, by Keep Britain Tidy, who also administers the scheme in England. History The Green Flag Award was introduced in 1996, and first awarded in 1997, by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) with the intention of establishing agreed standards of good management, to help to justify and evaluate funding and to raise park attendance. Edgware () is a suburban town in northern Greater London, mostly in the London Borough of Barnet but with small parts falling in the London Borough of Harrow and in the London Borough of Brent.
