Helmut Sandrock
Helmut Sandrock (born 15 December 1956 in Übach-Palenberg) is a German football administrator and former Secretary General of the German Football Association (german: Deutscher Fußball-Bund, DFB). From 2000 to 2002, he was Chief executive officer of MSV Duisburg. As part of the organizing committee of the DFB for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Sandrock was Tournament Director from 2003 to 2006. After that, he was Managing Director of FC Red Bull Salzburg from 2006 to 2008, with whom he won the Austrian football championship in 2007. With FIFA, Sandrock served as general coordinator at the FIFA Club World Cups in 2006 and 2007, as well as, at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In 2008, he also organized for FIFA the first home game of the Palestine national football team. Übach-Palenberg
Übach-Palenberg is a town in the Heinsberg district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was formed by the merger of two villages, Palenberg and Übach. Geography The town is located at the border with the Netherlands, at approx. 10 km east of Heerlen and 15 km north of Aachen. The river Wurm flows through the area. The town has an area of 26.106 km². More than half the area is agricultural. 2006 FIFA Club World Cup
The 2006 FIFA Club World Cup (officially known as the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2006 presented by Toyota for sponsorship reasons) was a football tournament held in Japan between 10 December and 17 December 2006. It was the third FIFA Club World Cup. The club champions from each of the six confederations played in a knockout tournament. The quarter-final match-ups were determined by a draw including the AFC, CAF, CONCACAF and OFC champions, while the UEFA and CONMEBOL champions were given byes to the semi-finals. The losers of the quarter-finals would play for the fifth place, while the losers of the semi-finals were to play in a third-place play-off. The Palestine national football team ( ar, منتخب فلسطين لكرة القدم), controlled by the Palestinian Football Association, represents Palestine in association football. The 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup was the eighth Confederations Cup, and was held in South Africa from 14 June to 28 June 2009, as a prelude to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
