"Hello" is a song by American singer and songwriter Lionel Richie. Taken as the third single from his second solo album, ''Can't Slow Down (Lionel Richie album), Can't Slow Down'' (1983), the song was released in 1984 and reached number one on three ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' music charts: the Billboard Hot 100, pop chart (for two weeks), the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B chart (for three weeks), and the Adult Contemporary (chart), Adult Contemporary chart (for six weeks). The song also went to number one on the UK Singles Chart for six weeks. The song was subject to a lawsuit by songwriter Marjorie Hoffman White, who accused Richie of plagiarizing her 1978 composition "I'm Not Ready to Go". Joe Chemay
Joe Chemay is an American bassist and background singer, known for his recording session work. Biography Chemay started out working as a session and touring support musician in Los Angeles, but moved to Nashville in 1989. Chemay has worked with Elton John, Shania Twain, Bill Medley, Peter Cetera, Lionel Richie, Christopher Cross, The Beach Boys, Leon Russell, Michael Nesmith, and others. In 1980 and 1981, Chemay participated in Pink Floyd's The Wall Tour, providing backing vocals. Louis Shelton
William Louis Shelton (born April 6, 1941) is an American guitarist and music producer. Biography During the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s Shelton was a session musician working in recording studios around Hollywood. Among his more notable session work was for the Monkees, including their first self-titled album, and both recordings of the Boyce and Hart songs, "Last Train to Clarksville", "Valleri", and "(Theme From) The Monkees". Shelton played the flamenco-style guitar solo on "Valleri", which Michael Nesmith had to mimic for the cameras on their TV series. Fender Rhodes
The Rhodes piano (also known as the Fender Rhodes piano) is an electric piano invented by Harold Rhodes, which became popular in the 1970s. Like a conventional piano, the Rhodes generates sound with keys and hammers, but instead of strings, the hammers strike thin metal tines, which vibrate next to an electromagnetic pickup. The signal is then sent through a cable to an external keyboard amplifier and speaker. In Classical music theory, a Neapolitan chord (or simply a "Neapolitan") is a major chord built on the lowered ( flatted) second (supertonic) scale degree. In Schenkerian analysis, it is known as a Phrygian II, since in minor scales the chord is built on the notes of the corresponding Phrygian mode.
