The Hellenic Handball Federation (OXE) ('' el, Ομοσπονδία Χειροσφαιρίσεως Ελλάδος'') is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Greece, Hellenic Republic (Greece). Founded in 1979, OXE is affiliated to the International Handball Federation and European Handball Federation. OXE is also affiliated to the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Mediterranean Handball Confederation. It is based in Athens. Greek Women's Handball Cup
The Greek women's handball cup is an annual competition, the most important in Greek women's handball together with the Greek championship. The first winner was GE Veria in 1987. Anagennisi Artas holds the record of cups won with nine consecutive titles between 1998 and 2006. Ormi Patras was the team that put an end to that domination by winning the title on May 13, 2007. 2021 Men's Youth World Handball Championship
The 2021 IHF Men's Youth World Championship would have been ninth edition of the championship to be held from 18 to 29 August 2021 in Greece under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). It would have been the first time in history that the championship would have been organised by Hellenic Handball Federation. On 22 February 2021, the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2011 Men's Junior World Handball Championship
The 2011 Men's Junior World Handball Championship was the 18th edition of the tournament and was held at Thessaloniki, Greece from July 17–31, 2011. Oceania withdrew their participation at this year's tournament, Norway replaced the Oceanian team. Uruguay withdrew from this year's edition, Venezuela replaced them as the first substitute of the Pan-American continent. In a rematch of the 2009 final Germany defeated Denmark 27–18 in the final. Format The 24 teams were allocated into six groups with the first four advancing to the eighthfinals in a knock-out system until the final. Handball At The 2004 Summer Olympics
Handball at the 2004 Summer Olympics included a men's and a women's team competitions with the preliminary rounds taking place in the Sports Pavilion at the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex. From the quarter final stage onwards, the women's event moved to the Helliniko Olympic Indoor Arena, a part of the Helliniko Olympic Complex, with the men joining them there for their semi-finals and final. The men's Handball event first made an appearance, played outside, at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany but did not then re-appear until the Games returned to Germany for the Munich Olympics in 1972 since when it has been ever present.
