Hellenic Film Academy
The Hellenic Film Academy (HFA) ( el, Ελληνική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου) is an initiative of a group of Greek filmmakers. HFA presents the annual Hellenic Film Academy Awards ceremony, awarding the best films of Greek cinema of the last year. The Hellenic Film Academy was founded in November 2009 by a group of active film professionals of Greek cinema, involved in the ''Filmmakers Of Greece'' movement demanding a new Greek film law. Through a series of events that shook the Greek film world, the Hellenic Film Academy Awards replaced the defamed Greek State Film Awards, held by the Greek Ministry of Culture, that since ceased to exist. The founding members were 108 Greek filmmakers, producers, film critics, technicians, screenwriters and actors. Kostas Voutsas ( el, Κώστας Βουτσάς; born Konstantinos Savvopoulos ( el, Κωνσταντίνος Σαββόπουλος; 31 December 1931 – 26 February 2020) was a Greek actor, director, and writer. Personal life Voutsas was born in Vyronas, Athens in 1931 to a refugee family from Epivates, and moved to Thessaloniki in 1932. He studied drama at the Drama School of the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki and made his stage and screen debut in 1953. His breakthrough came in 1961, when Giannis Dalianidis gave him a key part in his phenomenally successful youth melodrama Ο Κατήφορος (1961). ''Dogtooth'' ( el, Κυνόδοντας; ''Kynodontas'') is a 2009 Greek psychological drama film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Written by Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou, the film is about a husband and wife (Christos Stergioglou and Michelle Valley) who keep their children (Angeliki Papoulia, Mary Tsoni and Christos Passalis) ignorant of the world outside their property well into adulthood. ''Ta Nea'' ( el, Τα Νέα, italic=yes; Translation: ''The News'') is a daily newspaper published in Athens. It was owned by Lambrakis Press Group (DOL), which also published the newspaper ''To Vima''. The Athens Concert Hall (Greek: Μέγαρον Μουσικής Αθηνών, ''Mégaron Mousikis Athinon'') is a concert hall located on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue in Athens, Greece. Athens – Epidaurus Festival is an annual arts festival that takes place in Athens and Epidaurus, from May to October. It is one of the most famous festivals in Greece. César Awards
The César Award is the national film award of France. It is delivered in the ' ceremony and was first awarded in 1976.
