Hellefonna
Hellefonna is a glaciated area in Sabine Land at Spitsbergen, Svalbard. It is located between Kjellströmdalen and Sassendalen, and comprises several smaller glaciers, including Jinnbreen, Innerbreen, Marmorbreen, Skruisbreen and Sveigbreen. Sigurd Gunnarson Helle
Sigurd Gunnarson Helle (6 September 1920 – 21 April 2013) was a Norwegian topographer and explorer. He was born in Hylestad. He graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.mag. degree in 1948. He was a research assistant for Carl Størmer, and was hired as a geodesist at the Norwegian Polar Institute in 1949. He did field work at Jan Mayen and Svalbard, but is best known for leading the Sixth Norwegian Antarctic Expedition to Queen Maud Land in 1956–1960. He retired in 1987. Spitsbergen (; formerly known as West Spitsbergen; Norwegian: ''Vest Spitsbergen'' or ''Vestspitsbergen'' , also sometimes spelled Spitzbergen) is the largest and the only permanently populated island of the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway. Svalbard
Svalbard ( , ), also known as Spitsbergen, or Spitzbergen, is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. North of mainland Europe, it is about midway between the northern coast of Norway and the North Pole. The islands of the group range from 74° to 81° north latitude, and from 10° to 35° east longitude. The largest island is Spitsbergen, followed by Nordaustlandet and . The largest settlement is Longyearbyen. The islands were first used as a base by the whalers who sailed far north in the 17th and 18th centuries, after which they were abandoned. Kjellströmdalen
Kjellströmdalen is a valley at Spitsbergen, Svalbard. It has a length of about 27 kilometers, and forms the border between Nordenskiöld Land, Heer Land and Sabine Land. The valley is named after topographer Carl Johan Otto Kjellström.
