Helena Šikolová
Helena Balatková (born Šikolová, 25 March 1949 in Jablonec nad Nisou, ) is a former Czechoslovak cross-country skier who competed during the 1970s. She won a bronze medal in the 5 km event at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, becoming the first Czech of either sex to win an Olympic medal in cross-country skiing. Šikolová also finished fourth in the 10 km event at the 1970 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. She is mother of Helena Erbenová and mother-in-law of Lukáš Bauer Lukáš Bauer (; born 18 August 1977) is a Czech cross-country skier who has competed since 1996. Jablonec Nad Nisou
Jablonec nad Nisou (; german: Gablonz an der Neiße) is a city in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 45,000 inhabitants. It is the second-largest city in the region. It is a local centre for education, and is known for its glass and jewelry production. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 took place 14–22 February 1970 in Vysoké Tatry, Czechoslovakia (present-day Slovakia). This was the second time this city hosted the event having done so in 1935. It was the first time an event was televised in colour from Czechoslovakia though broadcasting there remained in black and white.
