It is part of the Moss Point, Mississippi, Moss Point Metropolitan Statistical Area. Per the 2020 Census, the population was 983. History A post office operated under the name Helena from 1910 to 1924. Geography Helena is in eastern Jackson County, east of Escatawpa, Mississippi, Escatawpa and north of Moss Point, Mississippi, Moss Point. Interstate 10 passes south of the community, and Pascagoula, Mississippi, Pascagoula, the county seat, is to the southwest. CDPs have been used in each decennial census since 1980 as the counterparts of incorporated places, such as self-governing cities, towns, and villages, for the purposes of gathering and correlating statistical data.
