Helder Antunes
Hélder Fragueiro Antunes (born 6 July 1963; Angra do HeroÃsmo, Azores) is a Portuguese-American executive, computer scientist, and former racecar driver. A Cisco Systems executive for over twenty years, as well as founder and first Chairman of the OpenFog Consortium, Antunes currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Crowdkeep. His car racing career in the 1980s and '90s made him one of the most preeminent open road racers at the time. Dubbed by PortugalGlobal Magazine as ''"the perfect example of Portuguese success in the global era"'', Antunes is actively involved in Portuguese and Azorean economic and political affairs. 2018 Nobel Peace Prize
The 2018 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Denis Mukwege (b. 1955) and Nadia Murad (b. 1993) "for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict," according to the Norwegian Nobel Committee announcement on 5 October 2018 in Oslo, Norway. "Both laureates have made a crucial contribution to focusing attention on, and combating, such war crimes," according to the award citation. After reading the citation, Committee Chair Berit Reiss-Andersen told reporters that the impact of this year's award is to highlight sexual abuse with the goal that every level of governance take responsibility to end such crimes and impunities. Dr. Manuel Alcindo Antunes Frasquilho (died 8 august 2015, in Lisbon) was a Portuguese transportation executive and politician. He served, at different times, as President of the Port of Lisbon Administration and of the Lisbon Metro, for which he was known for expanding the metro and reducing its costs significantly, gaining him the epithet ''"turbogestor"'' ("turbo-executor"). He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Comboios de Portugal, Portugal's state-owned rail company. Josse Van Huerter
Joost De Hurtere (1430 in Torhout – 1495 in Horta), also known by several transliterations (such as ''Josse van Huerter, Josse van Hurtere'', ''Josse De Hurtere'' or ''Joss van Hürter'', and later in Portuguese, ''Joss de Utra'' or just ''Dutra'') was the first settler, and captain-major of the island of Faial in the Portuguese Azores. After 1482, the island of Pico was also incorporated into his captaincy. His son, Joss de Utra would later inherit the captaincy from him after his death. Willem van der Haegen (1430; Flanders – 21 December 1507/9; São Jorge, Azores), or Willem De Kersemakere, known in Portuguese as Guilherme da Silveira, or Guilherme Casmaca, was a Flemish-born Azorean entrepreneur, explorer, and colonizer. He was a pioneer colonizer in Azorean history and his descendants formed part of the original Azorean nobility.
