Heinrich Malangré
Heinrich Malangré (25 July 1930 – 12 September 2017) was a German business executive, lawyer, publisher and philanthropist. An observant Catholic, he held many church offices and was a knight of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Background He belonged to a prominent Aachen family and was the brother of the city's lord mayor Kurt Malangré. His family is of French-speaking Wallonian origin and moved from La Louvière, Haine-Saint-Pierre in Belgium to Stolberg (Rhineland), Stolberg in the second half of the 19th century to establish a glass production business. He married Thesi Wolf in 1955 and was the father of Susanne Laschet and the father-in-law of Armin Laschet. Career He earned a law degree and a doctorate in law at the University of Bonn in 1956, and worked as a business executive in the glass industry from 1954. Nicholas of Cusa (1401 – 11 August 1464), also referred to as Nicholas of Kues and Nicolaus Cusanus (), was a German Catholic cardinal, philosopher, theologian, jurist, mathematician, and astronomer. One of the first German proponents of Renaissance humanism, he made spiritual and political contributions in European history. A notable example of this is his mystical or spiritual writings on "learned ignorance," as well as his participation in power struggles between Rome and the German states of the Holy Roman Empire. David Hansemann
David Justus Ludwig Hansemann (12 July 1790 – 4 August 1864) was a Prussian politician and banker, serving as the Prussian Minister of Finance in 1848. Life Hansemann was born in Finkenwerder, Hamburg, the son of a Protestant minister. After studying commerce, he was a representative for a Monschau cloth manufacturer. From 1817, he created different enterprises in Aachen, under which the predecessor company the Aachen native of Munich, which is today part of the AMB Generali. Into the 1820s and 1830s, he came by a large sum of money. His concern for the well-being of his employees and his readiness for generous donations were considered unusual. The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (german: Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, or , BVO) is the only federal decoration of Germany.
