Heera Singh Sandhu
Sardar Heera Singh Sandhu (1706–1776) was the founder of Nakai Misl, one of the twelve Sikh Misls that later became the Sikh Empire under the leadership of Ranjit Singh. Heera Singh Sandhu was killed in battle near Pakpattan when he partook in a battle against a ''Chisti'' army of devotees of Baba Farid's shrine in 1776. Life Heera Singh Sandhu was born into Jat Sikh family in 1706 in the region of Punjab in what is now Pakistan. He took possession of the lands surrounding his native village, Baherwal Kalan and countryside of Kasur which was located in the Nakka country South of Majha Region. Heera Rajagopal (born 29 December 1971) is a former Indian actress who has appeared in a number of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Career As a military brat, Heera shifted to schools across different states in India every few years. She later pursued a degree in psychology at Women's Christian College, Chennai. Heera Ramnarayan Pathak, born Heera Kalyanray Mehta, was a Gujarati poet and literary critic. She married Ramnarayan V. Pathak, a Gujarati writer. Life She was born on 12 April 1916 in Mumbai. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1936 from S.N.D.T University with Gujarati as her main subject. She received a Ph.D. in 1938 for her research work ''Aapnu Vivechan Sahitya'' (History of Our Literary Criticism), which was published as a book in 1939. She was a professor of Gujarati at S.N.D.T University from 1938 to 1972. She was the president of Gujarati Adhyapak Sangh for 1970–1971 and also was vice-president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad for a few years. She married as the second wife of Gujarati writer Ramnarayan V. Pathak, who predeceased her on 21 August 1955. The marriage was childless. She died of cancer on 15 September 1995 at Mumbai.
