Heaven The Axe
Heaven the Axe is a heavy metal band, which formed in Wagga Wagga in 2007 by Phoebe Pinnock on lead vocals and her husband, Steve Watts, on rhythm guitar. History Heaven the Axe began as a duo of domestic partners, Phoebe Pinnock on lead vocals and Steve Watts (ex-Manticore) on rhythm guitar in Wagga Wagga. After the couple moved to Melbourne they were joined by Matt "Skitz" Sanders (Drummer; Damaged, Terrorust) with accompaniment by Nick Williams (Rotten Chop) on bass. Phoebe, Steve and Skitz recorded two songs "So Nirvana" and "Glue" with Ren Parisi from Melbourne Records. Recruiting live members Paolo Celli and Retch Bile (Broozer) they played their first show in October 2009 at Noise Bar, Brunswick. The band did a series of fundraising efforts in 2010 raising money for victims of child sex slavery in Nepal. Pub Rock (Australia)
Pub rock is a style of Australian rock and roll popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and that was still influencing contemporary Australian music in the 2000s. The term came from the venues where most of these bands originally played — inner-city and suburban pubs. These often noisy, hot, small and crowded venues were not always ideal as music venues and favoured loud, simple songs based on drums and electric guitar riffs. Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Damaged (band)
Damaged was an Australian deathgrind band from Ballarat, Victoria, active from 1989 to 2004. History The band was formed by drummer Matt "Skitz" Sanders. Mat Silcock and Chris Hill were the two original guitarists, with bass player Jason Parker and singer James Ludbrook. The band's first demo, ''The Art of Destroying Life'', appeared in 1992; the next year they released their first album, ''Do Not Spit'', on Black Hole Records. In 1994 Damaged toured with Cannibal Corpse. Silcock left Damaged in 1996, and around the same time, due to a dispute with label Black Hole Records, Damaged disbanded. Hill joined Melbourne band Discordia; Sanders toured Europe as drummer with Sadistik Exekution and played in Abramelin. The split only lasted a short time, since the band was approached by US label Rotten Records and offered a five-album deal. The Amenta
The Amenta are an Australian Heavy metal music, metal band formed in 1997 as Crucible of Agony. By 2002 the line-up was Cesium 137 (aka Mark Bevan) on lead vocals, Diazanon (Dave Haley) on drums, Ethion (Erik Miehs) on guitar, Endrin (Nathan Jenkins) on bass guitar and Chlordane (Timothy Pope) on keyboards. In 2009 the line-up had Miehs and Pope joined by Laura Glitsos, Cain Cressall on vocals, Dan Quinlan on bass guitar and Robin Stone on drums. The Berzerker
The Berzerker are an extreme metal band from Melbourne and was formed in 1995. The band's music, heavily influenced by older death metal and grindcore, can be characterized as a fusion of these with speedcore, and gabber. The band's founding member Luke Kenny described the band's style as industrial death metal. The Berzerker has produced five full-length albums, ''The Berzerker'' (2000), '' Dissimulate'' (2002), '' World of Lies'' (2005), ''Animosity'' (2007) and ''The Reawakening'' (2008).
