Heaven Below (EP)
''Heaven Below'' is the self-titled EP from rock ensemble Heaven Below. The album was released on August 17, 2010. Composition The band had been closing shows on their then recent inaugural tour with audience favorite "Ace of Spades" by Motörhead. At one of their rehearsals, Patrick Kennison jokingly sung "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benatar over the instrumentals for "Ace of Spades". Because the band enjoyed how "Heartbreaker" sounded, they decided to record a studio version of the song. In addition to the six main tracks, the album contains a CD with 4 bonus tracks and 4 music videos, one of which is " Twilight Zone", originally recorded by Dutch rock band Golden Earring. Critical reception Marissa Brown from Artistdirect, described the EP as a "Most brilliantly bludgeoning performance" while Robert Foster from Metal Edge stated that "Every track explodes with expression". Heaven Below is an American hard rock band based in Los Angeles. The band's debut album ''Countdown to Devil'' was released March 2009. History The band was formed in late 2007 by Patrick Kennison (Union Underground), Marty O'Brien (Disturbed, We Are the Fallen) and session drummer Chad Clark to film a video for Kennison's song "The Laughing Dead". In 2008 guitarist Dave Comer was added completing the quartet. Later that year Comer and O'Brien were replaced by guitarist Jesse Billson and bassist John Younger respectively. '' Countdown to Devil '' Following the release of '' Countdown to Devil'', the group completed its first tour in mid-2009 dubbed the "Texas Takeover Tour". "Twilight Zone" is a 1982 hit by Dutch band Golden Earring. It was written by the band's guitarist George Kooymans, who drew inspiration from the book '' The Bourne Identity''. "Twilight Zone" appears on their 1982 album ''Cut'' and pays tribute to the 1960s television series ''The Twilight Zone''. It spent more than half a year (27 weeks) on the U.S. Pop charts. Golden Earring (originally known as The Tornados) was a Dutch rock band, founded in 1961 in The Hague as The Golden Earrings. "Heartbreaker" is a song by American singer Pat Benatar from her debut studio album '' In the Heat of the Night'' (1979). Written and composed by Geoff Gill and Cliff Wade, the song had first been recorded by English singer Jenny Darren on her 1978 album ''Queen of Fools'', and Benatar adjusted the original lyrics, as such references as "A to Zed" and "moonraker" would have likely confused American listeners. Patrick Kennison
Patrick Kennison is an American rock musician. He co-founded The Union Underground who played on Ozzfest 2001 and released an album ''An Education in Rebellion'' which sold 350,000 copies. Union Underground broke up due to musical differences with Kennison forming a new band 3-Faced with Marty O'Brien. Career In early 2008, he formed a new band called Heaven Below, serving as its lead singer. In 2011, Kennison toured with Jani Lane. In November 2014, he joined Lita Ford's band.
