Heaven And Earth (1990 Film)
is a 1990 Japanese film, directed by Haruki Kadokawa and starring Takaaki Enoki, Tsugawa Masahiko, Asano Atsuko, Zaizen Naomi and Nomura Hironobu. The film was released in Japan in June 1990, and an English version was released in North America in 1991. Ken Watanabe was originally cast in the role of Kenshin but had to pull out due to his severe illness. Plot Set in feudal Japan, the ''daimyō'' Kagetora (Enoki) must protect his lands and his people from the ambitions of the warlord Takeda (Tsugawa). Kagetora is also known as Uesugi Kenshin. In the film, Kagetora must defend his province of Echigo against Takeda Shingen. The famous battles include the Battle of Kawanakajima. Through it, members of the Unification Church believe that the couple is removed from the lineage of sinful humanity and engrafted into God's sinless lineage. As a result, the couple's marital relationship—and any children born after the Blessing—exist free from the consequences of original sin. The Tiandihui, the Heaven and Earth Society, also called Hongmen (the Vast Family), is a Chinese fraternal organization and historically a secretive folk religious sect in the vein of the Ming loyalist White Lotus Sect, the Tiandihui's ancestral organization. As the Tiandihui spread through different counties and provinces, it branched off into many groups and became known by many names, including the ''Sanhehui''. The ''Hongmen'' grouping is today more or less synonymous with the whole ''Tiandihui'' concept, although the title "Hongmen" is also claimed by some criminal groups. Its current iteration is purely secular. The story primarily focuses on the members of the Juken Club and their opposition, the Executive Council, which is the ruling student body of a high school that educates its students in the art of combat. As the story unfolds, both groups become increasingly involved with an ongoing battle that has been left unresolved for four hundred years. ''Tenjho Tenge'' was serialized in the ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Ultra Jump'' from 1997 to 2010, and collected into 22 volumes by publisher Shueisha. Plot ''Heaven & Earth'' is an integrated triad of toy, puzzle, and game all based on a single fantasy legend. With the animated cards in a solitaire-like game, the player tries to score tricks of the highest value, working against a random draw. There are also a dozen options for puzzles to manipulate, from sliders and mazes to 3-D illusions. The "toy" aspect of the game involves picking off gems with a swinging pendulum.
