Heather Bowie
Heather Bowie Young (born March 23, 1975) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. She played under her maiden name, Heather Bowie, until her marriage in 2006, and is also referred to as Heather Young. Bowie was born in Washington, D.C. She played college golf at Arizona State University, playing on two NCAA Women's Division I Championship teams in 1994 and 1995. She transferred to the University of Texas and won the NCAA Women's Division I Individual Championship in 1997. While at Texas, she was named the winner of the Honda Broderick Award (now the Honda Sports Award) for golf. She won the Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award in 1995 for her golfing and academic success. Bowie turned professional in 1997 and played on the Futures Tour in 1998 and 1999. Bowie joined the LPGA Tour in 2000 and has won once on Tour in 2005. The Dana Open Presented By Marathon, is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. It was founded in 1984 and has been played yearly, except in 1986 and 2011, in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb northwest of Toledo. The tournament is televised by Golf Channel. History The tournament was founded after PGA Tour caddie Judd Silverman, a Toledo native, sought to bring a ladies professional golf tournament to his hometown. Solheim Cup
The Solheim Cup is a biennial golf tournament for professional women golfers contested by teams representing Europe and the United States. It is named after the Norwegian-American golf club manufacturer Karsten Solheim, who was a driving force behind its creation. The inaugural Cup was held in 1990, and the event was first staged in even numbered years until 2002, alternating years with the Ryder Cup (the equivalent men's event). As part of the general reshuffling of team golf events after the one-year postponement of the 2001 Ryder Cup following the September 11 attacks, the Solheim Cup switched to odd numbered years beginning in 2003. Another reshuffle of team golf events took place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Solheim Cup will return to even numbered years from 2024. Gloria Park
Hee-Jung "Gloria" Park (born 27 February 1980) is a South Korean professional golfer who played mostly on U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She has also used the Westernized name Gloria Park. Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. After moving to Australia as a teenager, she won the Australian Girls' Amateur three times and won the Australian Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 1997. After turning professional in 1998, Park won the 1998 Sports Seoul Ladies' Open on the LPGA of Korea Tour and the 1999 Indonesian Ladies' Open. 2005 LPGA Tour
The 2005 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from February through December 2005. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Total prize money for all tournaments was $45,100,000. Annika Sörenstam dominated the Tour in 2005, winning ten tournaments, including two of the four major tournaments, winning more than $2 million in prize money for the fifth consecutive season.
