Area code 920 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for a large area of eastern Wisconsin. It was created on July 26, 1997, in a split from area code 414, which formerly served the entire eastern third of the state. 920 is scheduled to be overlaid with area code 274 on May 5, 2023. In 2008, service providers recognized the need for a second area code for northeastern Wisconsin, leading the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to approve an overlay plan with new area code 274. Adolf Scheuber
Adolf Scheuber (January 23, 1833 – April 12, 1892) was an American farmer and politician. Born in Prussia, Scheuber emigrated to the United States in 1849 and eventually settled in Erfurt, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. He was a farmer and merchant. Scheuber served as notary public, register of deeds for Jefferson County and as superintendent of the poor. In 1877, Scheuber served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and was a Democrat.
