Heartsdales
Heartsdales was a Japanese-American hip pop duo composed of sisters and , known by their stage names Rum and Jewels, respectively. Yumi was born on December 17, 1981 and Emi on December 4, 1976 in Tokyo, Japan. Their family moved to the Yonkers area of New York right after Yumi was born, due to their father's job as an interior designer. In 1995, the family moved back to Japan, and Yumi attended Tama Art University and Emi attended Keio University. In summer 2001, Yumi and Emi appeared on the TV audition program Asayan after sending in a demo. They won the competition, and landed a contract with Avex Entertainment. They adopted the name "Heartsdales" as a reference to the hamlet of Hartsdale, New York. They released their first album, ''Radioactive'', in 2002 under Avex Record's sublabel Cutting Edge. "Switch/I Only Want to Be with You" (stylized as ''SWITCH/I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU'') is a double A-side by ex-m-flo vocalist Lisa (Japanese musician, born 1974), LISA. The single charted at #43 on the Oricon charts and became the last single by LISA to chart in the top fifty. The track "Switch" features the hip-hop sibling duo Heartsdales and singer Koda Kumi, while the track "I Only Want to Be with You" is a cover of the 1953 Dusty Springfield song of the same name. M-Flo
is a Japanese hip hop group consisting of record producer DJ Taku Takahashi, Verbal and Lisa. Lisa left the group in 2002 to pursue a solo career and the remaining members then started the M-Flo Loves... project working different vocalists for each song over three albums, including the likes of Namie Amuro, Bonnie Pink, Koda Kumi and BoA. Their mainstream success and critical acclaim established them as the most iconic and influential hip-hop production team in Japan with success throughout Asia. Hartsdale is a hamlet located in the town of Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 5,293 at the 2010 census. It is a suburb of New York City. , better known by her stage name Lisa, is a Japanese singer, songwriter and producer. In 1998, she debuted as a member of the Japanese urban contemporary group M-Flo with Verbal and Taku Takahashi.
