Heartbreaker (Marie Ueda Album)
''Heartbreaker'' (ハートブレイカー) is the third original album by J-pop singer-songwriter Marie Ueda. It was released on 26 August 2020 under the Giza Studio label. It includes the singles "Revolver", "I Just Wanna Be a Star", "Stranger" and "What's". Background The album consists of 17 songs, which makes it the longest album in Ueda's career. It's also the first album which includes lyrics and music from other people. Various veteran musicians from Being, such as Akihito Tokunaga, Daria Kawashima and Aika Ohno were involved in the music production. The album was released in two editions, regular CD and limited CD+DVD. The DVD consisted of music video clips from the years 2016-2020. Marie Ueda
is a Japanese singer and songwriter under Giza Studio label. Biography At the age of 5 or 6, Ueda dreamed to become a singer one day. During elementary school she tried out in various auditions at singing contests. In 2003, at 12, she sang Yo Hitoto's "Morai Naki" at the Jaccom music festival and won the contest. When she attended middle school, she was scouted by a Fukuoka talent agency, but she rejected the offer. Then she tried out at a Giza Studio audition in her 3rd year of middle school and won. 2008–2013: Indie career In spring of 2007, after graduating from junior high school, Ueda went to live alone in Osaka and started music activities such as live performances and songwriting. Her live performances caught the attention of a staff at the record company, so she began music production. From January until June 2008, MarUedaie released a monthly digital single. Giza Studio
is a Japanese record label. The Giza Studio started as an indie label in the late 1990s under the name Garage Indies Zapping Association, but soon Being Inc. bought it as their sister label company. Giza Studio is located in Osaka, Japan and has been producing successful artists such as Mai Kuraki, Garnet Crow, Rina Aiuchi, etc. since their commercial service on September 1, 1998. Along with other Being Group's sister labels (Zain Records, Rooms Records, B-Gram Records, BMFC, Vermillion Records and Northern Music), the studio's main task is to create music productivity by hiring talented artists, composers and engineers. Akihito Tokunaga
(born 22 September 1971) is a Japanese musical composer and arranger under Giza Studio label since 2000. Biography Since college he worked as orchestrator, then start working as a bassist. For artists as Zard, Mai Kuraki, B'z and many others from Being Inc. Tokunaga provided for them music and arrangements, participate in the live support for more than 15 years. Tokunaga is working as a bassist with high technology. He also participated in many chorus parts which he makes on his own. He is member of rock band doa as vocalist and bassist. Beside of this he's doing programming, is in charge of piano, organ, guitar, mandolin and percussion. He is famous for the composer of ''Dragon Ball GT'' replacing Shunsuke Kikuchi. Daria Kawashima
, known before as Miki Kawashima, is a Japanese musical composer, singer-songwriter, lyricist under Being Inc. records. Biography In 1986, she debuted as ''Miki Kawashima'' with the single Silk no Kuchibiru under CBS Sony label. Three years, she debuted as Daria Kawashima with the single ''Shiny Day'' under the Zain Records label. Since joining the Being agency, Kawashima has composed and wrote several songs for artists like Zard and Deen. In 1992, she composed ''Moonlight Densetsu'' under the alias of ''Tetsuya Komuro'', presumably inspired by the legendary songwriter of the same name. The song would later be used as an opening theme for the popular anime series Sailor Moon. Kawashima also became known as the vocalist and leader of the heavy metal band '' Feel So Bad''. Kazuya Yoshii
is a Japanese musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band The Yellow Monkey. When they went on hiatus in 2001, before officially disbanding three years later, Yoshii started a solo career in 2003 under the name Yoshii Lovinson. He switched back to his old name in 2006 and The Yellow Monkey reformed in 2016. Career Yoshii's first band was Urgh Police, which he joined in 1986 as bass guitarist under the stage name "Robin". After releasing a demo, an EP and one album, they disbanded. In 1988, Yoshii switched to guitar and formed a new group that included Youichi Hirose and Eiji Kikuchi, where he used the nickname "Lovin". The Yellow Monkey, sometimes abbreviated as , is a Japanese rock band originally active from 1988 to 2001, before officially disbanding in 2004. They announced their reformation in 2016.
