''Heartbeats and Brainwaves'' is the eighth album by Detroit rock band Electric Six. It was released on October 11, 2011. It was released as a CD, digital download and a colored double vinyl set which is sold at the band's live shows. A video for "Psychic Visions" starring Dick Valentine and directed by Justin J. Lowe was uploaded on April 30, 2012, marking the band's first video for three years. Electric Six
Electric Six is a six-piece American rock band formed in 1996 in Detroit, Michigan. Their music was described by AllMusic as a combination of garage, disco, punk rock, new wave, and metal. The band achieved recognition in 2003 with the singles "Danger! High Voltage" and "Gay Bar", and have since released 14 studio albums, two rarities albums, and one live album. A live DVD, ''Absolute Treasure'', was released in 2014. The current lineup of the band consists of vocalist Dick Valentine, lead guitarist , keyboardist Tait Nucleus?, rhythm guitarist Da Vé, bassist Rob Lower and drummer Todd Glass. Tyler Spencer
Tyler Spencer (born January 22, 1972), also known as Dick Valentine, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and author. He is best known as the lead vocalist, main lyricist, and co-founder of the rock band Electric Six. Career Spencer founded Electric Six in 1996, at which time the band was named the Wildbunch, but this was changed because another band had the same name. He is also one of the two members of the dance group Evil Cowards, is one of the vocalists for hard rock band Bang Camaro, and was temporarily a member of the short-lived band The Dirty Shame. He released his first solo album, ''Destroy the Children'', under the Dick Valentine pseudonym on May 14, 2012. ''Roulette Stars of Metro Detroit'' is an American mockumentary film starring members of the rock band Electric Six as fictional versions of themselves. The film was written by lead singer Dick Valentine and was crowd-sourced through a Kickstarter campaign. Cast * Dick Valentine as himself * Da Ve as himself * as himself * Tait Nucleus? as himself * Mike Alonso as himself Production The project was originally pitched on Kickstarter as a spoof 45-minute pilot for a documentary TV series following fictionalised backstories and exploits of the members of the band. A $30,000 goal was set which was soon reached and surpassed. A total of $63,243 was raised by the end of the campaign. The mockumentary features cameos from some backers of the project on Kickstarter who pledged to be given a role in the film. ''Mimicry and Memories'' is a compilation album by Electric Six. Disc one, ''Mimicry'', is composed of cover songs. Disc two, ''Memories'', consists of demos, B-sides and rarities. It was funded through a Kickstarter campaign and self-released directly to the campaign's backers. Production Following the success of the cover songs recorded as perks in the band's "Absolute Treasure" campaign, the band launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $25,000 in order to fund the album. It was successful with a total of $64,977 being raised. Each member of the band chose a song to cover on the ''Mimicry'' portion of the album. Dick Valentine selected " Ah! Mark Mallman (born July 20, 1973) is a Minnesota musician, film composer, and memoirist. Since 1998, he has released nine full-length studio albums, ''Happiness'' (2021) being his most recent. Education Mallman graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1991. He studied jazz piano at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1991. Christopher Tait, also known as Tait Nucleus?, is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He is best known as the synthesizer player of the rock band Electric Six and the founder of Passenger Recovery. Although he was credited as an associate on ''Fire'', it wasn't until the band's lineup change in 2002 when he officially joined.
