Heart Of A Killer
''Heart of a Killer'' is Winter's Bane's debut album, released in 1993. It is a partial concept album, with the first six songs detailing the story of a judge who sentences a murderer to death, and soon afterwards has his heart replaced with the killer's in a transplant operation. ''Heart of a Killer'' was re-released by Century Media in 2000, featuring a bonus disc comprising a live recording from a radio broadcast and a demo. Dennis Hayes (bassist)
Dennis Hayes is an American bass guitarist, currently playing for Beyond Fear. Hayes began his career with the heavy metal band Wretch. Later he was a founding member of the Progressive Heavy Metal band Castle Black with other former members of Wretch, Nick Giannakos (Lead Guitar) and Drummer, Jeff Currenton. It was during this time where he began a long association with Tim "Ripper" Owens, as Castle Black and Winter's Bane often played the same venues around Northeastern Ohio. Hayes eventually was offered, and accepted, membership in Winter's Bane. Both Hayes and Owens performed on Winter's Bane's 1993 debut album Heart of a Killer. Timothy S. "Ripper" Owens (born September 13, 1967) is an American heavy metal singer who currently performs with KK's Priest, Spirits of Fire, the Three Tremors and A New Revenge. He first gained attention as the lead singer of Judas Priest and then Iced Earth. He took the nickname "Ripper" from the Judas Priest song "The Ripper" during his time in the tribute band British Steel. Winter's Bane
Winters Bane are a heavy/power metal band formed in 1990. They have gone through extensive line-up changes throughout their history with only guitarist and sometime-vocalist Lou St. Paul featuring as an ever-present. In their first incarnation with Tim "Ripper" Owens (who would later join Judas Priest and Iced Earth), they released the '' Heart of a Killer'' album in 1993, a concept piece based on the murderous exploits of a character called Judge Cohagen.
