Heart Bath
Heart 103 (formerly GWR FM Bath) was an independent radio station serving Bath in Somerset, England, broadcasting on 103 MHz FM, on DAB Digital radio and online. History In 1986, a Bath ILR licence was awarded by the IBA. GWR Radio Bath first broadcast on 22 May 1987. In its latter years, the station played Hot adult contemporary, ranging from the early 1980s to the current successful chart hits. The station was rebranded on 23 March 2009 in line with the rebranding by Global Radio of most of the One Network. Up until its closure, the station shared some of its programming with Heart Bristol. However, for official licensing purposes Heart Bath and Bristol were listed as one station and audience figures from RAJAR are combined with Heart Wiltshire. GCap Media was a British commercial radio company formed from the merger of the Capital Radio Group and GWR Group. The merger was completed in May 2005. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. On 31 March 2008 the company agreed a takeover by Global Radio for £375 million. This was completed on 6 June 2008, and the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Radio. On 1 November 2008, Global Radio discontinued using the name GCap Media. Heart West Country was a regional radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network, broadcasting to Bristol and Somerset. It launched on 16 July 2010 as a result of a merger between Heart Bristol (formerly GWR FM), Heart Bath (formerly GWR FM Bath) and Heart Somerset (formerly Orchard FM). Heart Somerset (formerly Somerset's Orchard FM) was an Independent Local Radio station serving Somerset, England. Originally owned by (and officially remains licensed to) Orchard Media Ltd, the company was purchased by GWR Group in 1999, and subsequently became owned by GCap Media in 2005. Somerset's Orchard FM (later Heart Somerset) broadcast from studios at Haygrove House (a converted farmhouse and grounds) at Shoreditch near Taunton Racecourse, Taunton, adjacent to the M5. Heart Wiltshire (formerly GWR FM Wiltshire) was a local radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network. It broadcast to north and west Wiltshire. The station was rebranded to Heart in March 2009 in line with Global Radio's rebranding of most of the One Network, to which the station was part of. Its local competitors were Sam FM, BBC Wiltshire and community radio station, Swindon 105.5. On 31 May 2019, it was merged into Heart West. Radio Joint Audience Research Limited (RAJAR) was established in 1992 to operate a single audience measurement system for the radio industry in the United Kingdom. RAJAR is jointly owned by the BBC and RadioCentre. RAJAR's predecessor was called Joint Industry Committee on Radio Audience Research (JICRAR). Prior to this, the BBC and RadioCentre's predecessor CRCA carried out their own measurements independently of each other. One Network
The One Network was the collective name for thirty-eight regional Independent Local Radio licences operated by GCap Media in the United Kingdom. It was formed from the combination of GWR Group's 'The Mix Network' and Capital Radio Group's 'The Capital Radio Network' when the companies merged in 2005. Its main regional radio network rival was the Big City Network, owned by Bauer Group. It was announced in September 2008 that most of The One Network would be re-branded 'Heart', this being completed by June 2009 with seven retaining their name as a new Hit Music Network, and Power FM becoming Galaxy South Coast, as part of the Galaxy Network.
