Headnoise
Headnoise, is early eighties old school female fronted, guitar driven, powerfully fast hardcore punk rock band. Founded in 1994 from the streets of Los Angeles, they have shared the stage with bands like, DI, Agent Orange, Chron Gen, JFA, T.S.O.L., Circle One, 7 seconds, Decry, Shattered Faith, Spider and others. They were on the forefront of the Southern California-based "JCHC" underground movement, along with Officer Negative, following in the footsteps of bands like The Crucified, Nobody Special, and Scaterd Few. Crashdog
Crashdog was one of the first Christian punk bands and was active primarily in the early 1990s. Most of their albums were released by Grrr Records, which has also been home to Headnoise, Resurrection Band, and Glenn Kaiser, among others. Crashdog were known for their very direct lyrics, which they used to make social commentaries and discuss political issues of their day. Their albums included both strongly Christian songs and overtly political songs, often with a liberal bent. They were one of the first Christian bands to do this; later Christian old-school punk and hardcore bands later followed suit. After their 1998 release, ''8 Years to Nowhere'' a selection of songs from previous recordings (originally called ''8 Years from Nowhere to Nowhere''), they decided to go on a one-year hiatus because their drummer, Greg Jacques along with Matt Switaj of The Blamed, was starting a new record label, 2 Jake Records. The Crucified
The Crucified is an American Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band from Fresno, California that formed in 1984. Its lineup is vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Jeff Bellew, and drummer Jim Chaffin. The band are considered "pioneers of Christian hardcore." During their initial 1984-1993 tenure, the band played at the Cornerstone Festival several times, and also opened for non-religious punk and metal bands like D.R.I. and Pantera. Pragmaticism
"Pragmaticism" is a term used by Charles Sanders Peirce for his pragmatic philosophy starting in 1905, in order to distance himself and it from pragmatism, the original name, which had been used in a manner he did not approve of in the "literary journals". Scaterd Few
Scaterd Few was a Christian punk band originating from Burbank, California. ''CCM'' magazine described their music as "pure punk for dread people," stating that it was a cross between Janes Addiction and Charlie Mingus. History ''Sin Disease'' era Scaterd Few initially existed from 1983 until 1984 with a brief stint in 1985. Led by Allan Aguirre, then known as Rämald Domkus, the band recorded an 11-song demo with Terry Scott Taylor (of Daniel Amos fame) as producer in June 1983. Some of the material from this time was later released on their disk ''Out of the Attic''. Being unable to sell the material at the time, Scaterd Few went on hiatus in 1985 and Allan left to produce music with another band, Cygnet. Nobody Special was a Christian punk band formed in 1986, in Orange County, California. It consisted of recordings by Pat Nobody and studio musicians Gene Eugene, Joey Mitchell, Chris Brigandi and Joey Taylor. The band disbanded in 1990, reunited in 1996 and disbanded again in 1997.
