CKY (abbreviation of the band's original name Camp Kill Yourself) is an American Rock music, rock band from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1998 by vocalist and guitarist Deron Miller, guitarist Chad I Ginsburg and drummer Jess Margera, the group currently features Margera and Ginsburg with touring bassist Chris Weyh. Jess Margera
Jesse Margera (born August 28, 1978) is an American musician. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band CKY, which he co-founded in 1997. Prior to CKY, Margera performed in the band Foreign Objects with former CKY vocalist and guitarist Deron Miller, and he has since worked with Gnarkill, Viking Skull, The Company Band and Fuckface Unstoppable. Margera has also appeared in the ''CKY'' video series and the ''Viva La Bam'' and '' Jackass'' television series alongside his brother Bam. Early life Margera was born on August 28, 1978 and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Matt Deis is an American bass guitarist. Originally from West Springfield, Massachusetts, he is best known as the bassist of the rock band CKY with whom he performed with between 2005 and 2010, returning in 2015 and departing again in 2019, and the current bassist of metalcore band All That Remains, with whom he performed between 2003 and 2005, but made his return in 2022. From 2019 to 2020, Deis performed with ''American Idol'' finalist Tristan McIntosh. As of summer 2021, Deis is the touring bassist for the country music artist, Thompson Square. ''The Phoenix'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band CKY, released on June 16, 2017. It was the band's first album in eight years following ''Carver City'' (2009), marking the longest gap between two CKY albums. It is also the first album to feature guitarist Chad I Ginsburg providing lead vocals following the departure of Deron Miller, and the last album to feature bassist Matt Deis before his departure in 2019. Recorded primarily at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, it was produced by Ginsburg as the group's first album on Entertainment One Music.
