Hayt Golf Learning Center
The Hayt Golf Learning Center, also known as the "Golfplex" is the golf facility on the University of North Florida campus. It is a public course and the practice facility for the North Florida Ospreys golf team. History The concept of the Hayt Center began when former golf head coach John Brooks met with former UNF president Adam Herbert and former athletic director Dr. Richard Gropper and was promised the land. Brooks coordinated the funding, design and construction of the center. Local businessman John Hayt initially donated $750,000 to the project. The University of North Florida (UNF) is a public research university in Jacksonville, Florida. It is part of the State University System of Florida and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Mark McCumber
Mark Randall McCumber (born September 7, 1951) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. McCumber was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School. He turned professional in 1974 and joined the PGA Tour in 1978. McCumber won ten times on the PGA Tour between 1979 and 1994 including the prestigious Players Championship (1988) and Tour Championship (1994). He also won the World Cup for the United States in partnership with Ben Crenshaw in 1988. He played on the 1989 Ryder Cup team. McCumber worked as an on-course reporter for NBC Sports in 1991 and for ABC Sports part-time in 1998 and full-time in 1999. North Florida Ospreys
The North Florida Ospreys are the athletic teams of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference in NCAA Division I. UNF became a full-fledged member of Division I in 2009; previously, the Ospreys were members of the Sunshine State Conference and Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II. Adam Herbert
Adam William Herbert, Jr. (born December 1, 1943) is a United States retired academic administrator. He served as President of the University of North Florida from 1989 to 1998, as Chancellor of the State University System of Florida from 1998 to 2001, and as President of Indiana University from 2003 to 2007. He was the first African-American to hold the latter two positions. He announced his retirement from Indiana University in 2007, and was succeeded by Michael McRobbie.
