Hawalli Governorate
Hawalli Governorate ( ar, محافظة حولي Muḥāfaẓat Ḥawalli), is one of the six governorates of Kuwait, consisting of the following areas: * Hawalli * Bayan *Mishref *Maidan Hawalli *Jabriya *Rumaithiya *Salmiya *Salwa * Shaab * Al-salam * Hattin * Al-Zahra * Mubarak Al-Abdullah Al Jaber (West Mishref) * Al-shuhada * Al-badae * Al-Siddiq Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah become governor in 1962. Hawalli, Kuwait
Hawally ( ar, حولي) is an area in the Hawalli Governorate, located in the State of Kuwait. Hawally is a large settlement and the commercial center for most computer-related goods in Kuwait. Prior to the first Gulf War, it housed many Palestinians, but many left during and after the War. Currently, Hawally is home to many of the Arab populations in Kuwait including Egyptians, Syrians, Iraqis and Lebanese. It is also home to many Asians including Filipinos, Indians, Nepalis, Bengalis and Pakistanis. Ibn Khaldoun Street is one of its main streets. History The settlement was first established in the 7th century around fresh water wells that were dug during Al-Ala al-Hadhrami's time in what is now Kuwait and later officially became a city in 1906 during Al Sabah's rule. Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ( ar, نواف الأحمد الجابر الصباح, translit=Nawwāf al-Ahmad al-Jābir as-Sabāh; born 25 June 1937) is the emir of Kuwait and the commander of the Kuwait Military Forces. On 29 September 2020, he succeeded to the throne following the death of his half-brother Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Nawaf had been nominated as crown prince on 7 February 2006. Ibrahim Khraibut ( ar, إبراهيم علي يوسف خريبط) (1913–2003) was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly from 1963 to 1979. He ran as an independent and served four consecutive terms. Khraibut represented the first district. He worked as a private businessman and as a pro bono lawyer until being elected to Kuwait's first National Assembly in 1963.
