Hawaiian Island Charts
The Hawaiian Island weekly top 36 charts were weekly charts compiled from tabulations of listener ballots sent into Honolulu-based radio station Radio Free Hawaii, 102.7 FM. All genres of music were eligible for each week's chart, including current rock, pop and rap, as well as oldies, country, Hawaiian, jazz and classical music. The system was unique, as the radio playlists were chosen completely by the listeners. The charts existed 1991–1997. Ballots
A ballot is a device used to cast votes in an election and may be found as a piece of paper or a small ball used in secret voting. It was originally a small ball (see blackballing) used to record decisions made by voters in Italy around the 16th century. Each voter uses one ballot, and ballots are not shared. In the simplest elections, a ballot may be a simple scrap of paper on which each voter writes in the name of a candidate, but governmental elections use pre-printed ballots to protect the secrecy of the votes. The voter casts their ballot in a box at a polling station. In British English, this is usually called a "ballot paper". The word ''ballot'' is used for an election process within an organization (such as a trade union "holding a ballot" of its members). Honolulu County, Hawaii
Honolulu County (officially known as the City and County of Honolulu, formerly Oahu County) is a consolidated city–county in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The city–county includes both the city of Honolulu (the state's capital and largest city) and the rest of the island of Oʻahu, as well as several minor outlying islands, including all of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (islands beyond Niihau) except Midway Atoll. KDDB
KDDB (102.7 FM) 102.7 Da Bomb is a commercial radio station licensed to Waipahu, Hawaii, and serving the Honolulu radio market. The Pacific Media Group station is known as "102.7 Da Bomb". It broadcasts a top 40 (mainstream CHR) format. KDDB also transmits on Oceanic Spectrum digital channel 854 for the entire state of Hawaii. The studios and offices are on Bishop Street in Honolulu. KDDB has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 61,000 watts, horizontal polarization and 60,000 watts vertical. The transmitter is located off Palehua Road in Akupu. A playlist is a list of video or audio files that can be played back on a media player either sequentially or in a shuffled order. A record chart, in the music industry, also called a music chart, is a ranking of Sound recording and reproduction, recorded music according to certain criteria during a given period. Many different criteria are used in worldwide charts, often in combination. These include record sales, the amount of radio airplay, the number of music download, downloads, and the amount of streaming media, streaming activity. Some charts are specific to a particular musical genre and most to a particular geographical location. The most common period covered by a chart is one week with the chart being printed or broadcast at the end of this time. Summary charts for years and decades are then calculated from their component weekly charts.
