Hawaii Tennis Open
As of July 2022, The Hawaii Open is now the Waikiki Cup. The Hawaii Open is a hardcourt men's and women's professional tennis tournament held annually in Honolulu, Hawaii. The tournament features players from the WTA and ATP Tours. The invitational tournament occurs immediately before the ATP Tour and WTA Tour begin the new season in late December. The Hawaii Open features three rounds of single-elimination matches played over three days in a best two-out-of-three set format. Third sets are played as a tie-break with the first to 10 points declared the winner. History The Hawaii Open tennis tournament began as a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 125K series event in 2016. During the first two years as a WTA 125K series event, the tournament was held at the Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park. Brandon Nakashima (born August 3, 2001) is an American professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 43 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he achieved on 17 October 2022. On the same day, he also reached a career-high doubles ranking of No. 316. Taylor Harry Fritz (born October 28, 1997) is an American professional tennis player. Nicole Gibbs (born March 3, 1993) is an American retired tennis player. She won seven singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
