Haussmann–Saint-Lazare (Paris RER)
Haussmann–Saint-Lazare is a station on the RER in Paris, France. Opened on 14 July 1999 as the terminus of the new Line E, it is situated beneath Boulevard Haussmann and directly connected to Paris–Saint-Lazare, Auber RER, and two metro stations. Engineering The architecture of Haussmann–Saint-Lazare closely resembles that of Magenta. Following the earlier model of Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, its main train hall houses two lines under a single cathedral-like vault with lateral platforms. As at ''Magenta'', the hall is supplemented by an additional two "half-stations" on either side, each with one platform. A "cathedral station", ''Haussmann–Saint-Lazare'' is remarkable for its relatively lavish proportions. A long term project to extend the Line E to the west, forming a new cross-Paris axis, was approved in February 2011. The station's construction cost was €275 million. Réseau Express Régional
The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. The network has 257 stations and has interchanges with the Paris Métro, Métro and Transilien, commuter rail within the City of Paris and the suburbs. Charles de Gaulle–Étoile () is a station on Line 1, Line 2 and Line 6 of the Paris Métro, as well as on Île-de-France's commuter rail RER A. The SNCF Class Z 22500, also known as the MI 2N "Eole" or MI 2N (French: ''Matériel d'Interconnexion à 2 Niveaux, Est Ouest Liaison Express'', English: ''two-level interconnection rolling stock for the east west express link'') is a double-deck, dual-voltage electric multiple unit trainset that is operated on line E of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs. The trains are SNCFs version of the MI 2N and looks similar to the other variant, the MI 2N "Altéo" trains (operated by the RATP) but each features different motorization and interior layout. Opéra () is a Metro station, station of the Paris Métro, named after the nearby Palais Garnier, Opéra Garnier, built by architect Charles Garnier (architect), Charles Garnier. RER A
RER A is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from east to west, with all trains serving a group of stations in central Paris, before branching out towards the ends of the line. The initial portion of the line was built in stages between December 1969 and December 1977 by connecting two existing suburban commuter rail lines with a new tunnel under Paris: the line between Vincennes and Boissy-Saint-Léger in the east (which formerly terminated at the now-closed Gare de la Bastille), and the line between Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Nanterre line in the west (which formerly used a surface alignment to Paris Saint-Lazare which is still in use as Transilien L).
