''Haunted Castle'' is a Side-scrolling video game, side-scrolling platform game released by Konami for the arcade game, arcades in 1987. It is the second arcade game in the Castlevania franchise, following ''Castlevania (1986 video game)#Releases, Vs. Castlevania'', an arcade port of the original Castlevania (1986 video game), 1986 NES video game released exclusively in North America. Unlike the previous arcade title in the franchise, ''Haunted Castle'' is not a direct port of an existing console game, but a newly-developed arcade game running on custom Japan Amusement Machine and Marketing Association, JAMMA-based board. It was released on November 15, 2005 for the Xbox. About 70 songs are available in total in this version. The game was announced in a press release by Konami on May 17, 2005, and unveiled at the E³ expo in Los Angeles that same day. Gameplay Similar to previous Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) titles, this game is played by listening to the music and hitting the up/down/left/right arrows when they hit the outline at the top of the screen after coming up from the bottom. This may be done with an Xbox controller or a DDR controller (dance mat). If you miss steps, your health goes down, but if you time one correctly, the health bar in the upper left slightly goes up.
