Hauk Aabel
Hauk Erlendssøn Aabel (21 April 1869 – 12 December 1961) was a popular Norwegian comedian and actor in Norwegian and Swedish silent film. Career Aabel made his début on stage on 11 October 1897 at the Christiania Theatre in Oslo, and was a prominent actor in the Norwegian theatre. In 1917, he began appearing in silent films in Sweden. He then returned to Norway in 1927, where he worked in many films, including several after the advent of sound. He made his last film in 1939, aged 72. Hauk Aabel was a reserve officer ( no, vernepliktig officer) in the Norwegian Army, with the rank of First Lieutenant. He was the informant who provided sounding material to the pioneering linguistic study of Haugen and Joos in 1952, called Tone and Intonation in East Norwegian. Svanhild Johannessen
Svanhild Johannessen (August 21, 1882 – January 15, 1971) was a Norwegian actress. Svanhild Johannessen was born in Bergen. She was the daughter of the actor Berent Johannessen and the actress Laura Elvig, and the sister of the actress Borghild Johannessen. On June 14, 1901, she married the actor Hauk Aabel. She was the mother of the actors Per Aabel and Andreas Aabel. Johannessen had her stage debut on January 4, 1900 at the Central Theater under the direction of Rudolf "Rulle" Rasmussen. She played the role of the young girl Hildegard in the comedy ''Das Opferlamm'' (The Sacrificial Lamb) by Oscar Walther and Leo Stein, in which her father played the lead role. Førde
Førde is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative center was the town of Førde which in 2016 had 10,255 inhabitants. Other villages in Førde municipality included Bruland, Holsen, Moskog, and Haukedalen. The Øyrane area in the town of Førde was a large industrial/commercial area for the region. The European Route E39 highway passed through the municipality, and it passed by the lake Holsavatnet. Førde Airport, Bringeland was the regional airport, located about from the town centre with flights that connect Oslo and Bergen with Førde. The airport was actually located in neighboring Gaular municipality, just south of the border. Einar Haugen
Einar Ingvald Haugen (; April 19, 1906 – June 20, 1994) was an American linguist, writer, and professor at University of Wisconsin–Madison and Harvard University. Biography Haugen was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Norwegian immigrants from the village of Oppdal in Trøndelag, Norway. When he was a young child, the family moved back to Oppdal for a few years, but then returned to the United States. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City but transferred to St. Olaf College to study with Ole Edvart Rølvaag. He earned his B.A. in 1928 and immediately went on to graduate studies in Scandinavian languages under professor George T. They are not normally kept under arms, and their main role is to be available when their military requires additional manpower.
