Hatto Beyerle
Hatto Beyerle (20 June 1933 – 16 October 2023) was a German-Austrian violist who played mainly as a chamber musician, conductor and academic teacher. He was a founding member of the Alban Berg Quartet, and remained with the string quartet until 1981. He was professor of viola and chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 1964 to 1987, and also taught at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, the City of Basel Music Academy and Fiesole School of Music, besides international master classes, influencing notable chamber music ensembles. He initiated and directed the European Chamber Music Academy in 2004. Life and career Beyerle was born in Frankfurt on 20 June 1933, the son of a historian of law. Hans Swarowsky (September 16, 1899September 10, 1975,) was an Austrian conductor of Hungarian birth. Swarowsky was born in Budapest, Hungary. He studied the art of conducting under Felix Weingartner and Richard Strauss. Galatea Quartet
The Galatea Quartet from Zurich is a young string quartet. It has existed in its original configuration since its inception in early 2005, when violist David Schneebeli left the formation in Summer 2013. His successor is Hugo Bollschweiler. The ensemble has already won prizes at the Geneva International Music Competition, at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka or at the Migros Chamber Music Competition in Switzerland. Since 2006 the quartet has been participating in the sessions of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) with professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Christoph Richter etc. In Zurich, the quartet took lessons with Stephan Goerner of the Carmina Quartet. The Leipzig String Quartet (in german: Leipziger Streichquartett) is a German string quartet established in 1988. The ensemble was also part of the 'Ensemble Avangarde' with the pianist Steffen Schleiermacher from Leipzig. History The Quartet was founded in 1988 as the "New Leipzig String Quartet". It kept this name until 1995. Three of the members were at the time at the first desks in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra until 1993, when they finally decided to devote themselves exclusively to chamber music. Hagen Quartet
The Hagen Quartet is an Austrian string quartet founded in 1981 by four siblings, Lukas, Angelika (first replaced by Annette Bik, who was then replaced by Rainer Schmidt in 1987), Veronika and Clemens, in Salzburg. The quartet members are teachers and mentors at the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Hochschule für Musik Basel. The ensemble made its Salzburg Festival debut in 1984. The complete recordings of the Mozart string quartets were released in 2006. In the 2012–2013 season, the Hagen Quartet performed the complete Beethoven cycle in New York, Tokyo, Paris, London, Salzburg and Vienna. Veronika Hagen
Veronika Hagen (born 5 May 1963, in Salzburg) is an Austrian Viola, violist. Born in Salzburg, Hagen began to learn music at the age of six with her father, who was at that time concertmaster of the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg. She then continued her studies at the Musik Hochschule of Salzburg with Professor Helmut Zehetmair and at the Musik Hochschule of Hanover with Professor Hatto Beyerle. During her studies she won several prizes, including the Budapest International Viola Competition in 1984. Hagen is a founding member of the Hagen Quartet, along with her siblings Lukas, Angelika (later replaced by Rainer Schmidt (violinist), Rainer Schmidt) and Clemens. Konzerthaus, Vienna
The Konzerthaus is a concert hall located in Vienna, Austria, which opened in 1913. It is situated in the third district just at the edge of the first district in Vienna. Since it was founded it has always tried to emphasise both traditional and innovative musical styles. In 1890, the first ideas for a ''Haus für Musikfeste'' (House for music festivals) came about. The idea of the new multi-purpose building was to be more interesting to the broader public than the traditional Vienna Musikverein. In addition to the concert hall, the first drawings by Ludwig Baumann for the ''Olympion'' included an ice-skating area and a bicycle club. In an attached open air area, 40,000 visitors would be able to attend events. Although the drawings were not accepted, today an ice skating area is situated right next to the building. The Académie Charles Cros (Charles Cros Academy) is an organization located in Chézy-sur-Marne, France, that acts as an intermediary between government cultural policy makers and professionals in music and the recording industry.
