Hassouneh Al-Sheikh
Hassouneh Yousef Qasem Al-Sheikh ( ar, حسونة يوسف قاسم الشيخ; born 26 January 1977) is a retired Jordanian footballer of Palestinian origin. Retirement Hassouneh retired internationally after playing the match between his country Jordan and Kuwait in the 2010 WAFF Championship, in which he entered as a substitute for his teammate Ahmad Abdel-Halim. That match resulted in a 2–2 draw. A friendly match was played between his country Jordan and Uzbekistan at the Amman International Stadium on 13 August 2012 to mark his international retirement. Hassouneh gave the captain arm band to the goalkeeper Amer Shafi and his #8 jersey shirt to his younger teammate from Al-Faisaly Khalil Bani Attiah after playing the first few minutes of the match. Hassouneh retired from playing football entirely in 2014. Al-Faisaly (Amman)
Al-Faisaly Sports Club ( ar, نادي الفيصلي الرياضي) is a professional football club based in Amman, Jordan, that competes in the Jordanian Pro League, the top flight of Jordanian football. Nicknamed "the Blue Eagles", they were founded as Al-Ashbal Club in 1932. The 2000 West Asian Football Federation Championship, also known as the King Hussein Cup, was the first edition of the WAFF Championship; it took part in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Iran won the final against Syria 1–0. The eight entrants were Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Kazakhstan (invited nation), Kyrgyzstan (invited nation), and host nation Jordan. 1999 Pan Arab Games
The 1999 Pan Arab Games were ninth edition of the multi-sport event between Arab countries and were held from August 15 to August 31. A total of around 4600 athletes from 21 countries participated in the 29 sports on offer. The opening ceremony that took place in Al Hussein Youth City Stadium was officially opened by King Abdullah II. Initially set to be held in Amman in 2001, the games were brought forward two years and branded as the "Al Hussein tournament" in honour of Hussein of Jordan, the long-ruling monarch who died earlier that year. 1997 Pan Arab Games
The 8th Pan Arab Games were held in Beirut, Lebanon between July 12 and July 27, 1997. 3253 athletes from 18 countries participated in events in 22 sports. Over 50,000 people gathered in the Sports City in Beirut for the opening ceremony of the eighth Pan-Arab games, the first such event to be hosted by Lebanon since forty years.
