Hasso Von Boehmer
Hasso von Boehmer (9 August 1904 – 5 March 1945) was a German lieutenant colonel on the General Staff and one of the 20 July Plotters. Hasso von Boehmer belonged to Infantry Regiment 9 (I.R. 9) from Potsdam, from which also came many of the other plotters. They served, among others, Major General Henning von Tresckow and Fritz-Dietlof von der Schulenburg in the regiment. All together, I.R. 9 supplied more plotters for the attempted assassination of German dictator Adolf Hitler and abortive coup d'état than any other regiment in the Wehrmacht. Hasso von Boehmer was won over to the plotters' cause by Tresckow, and he placed himself at their disposal as a liaison officer in the ''Wehrkreis'' ("Defence District") XX (Danzig – Gdańsk, Poland). Hasso Krull
Hasso Krull (born 1964 in Tallinn) is an Estonian poet, literary and cultural critic, and translator. Krull's main points of focus in his work have been postmodernism and post-structuralism. His topics include history, philosophy, literature, and translation. In 1990 Krull began teaching at the Estonian Institute of Humanities in literary and cultural theory. In 2001 he co-founded Ninniku (poetry in translation online periodical) which led to the book series Ninniju Raamatukogu. He has translated works of various poets including: Sujata Bhatt, André Breton, Allen Ginsberg, Tapani Kinnunen, Pablo Neruda, Sylvia Plath, Michael Ondaatje and Paul Valéry. Hasso Von Manteuffel
Freiherr Hasso Eccard von Manteuffel (14 January 1897 – 24 September 1978) was a German baron born to the Prussian noble von Manteuffel family and was a general during World War II who commanded the 5th Panzer Army. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds of Nazi Germany. After the war, he was elected to the Bundestag (West German legislature) and was the spokesman for defense of the Free Democratic Party. A proponent of rearmament, he was responsible for coining the new name for the post-World War II German armed forces, the Bundeswehr. Hasso Plattner (born 21 January 1944) is a German businessman. A co-founder of SAP SE software company, he has been chairman of the supervisory board of SAP SE since May 2003. As of August 2020, ''Forbes'' reported that he possessed a net worth of US$17.9 billion. Early life Plattner was born to German ophthalmologist Horst Plattner (1918-2001) and his wife shortly before the end of the Second World War, in Berlin. He grew up in Bavaria. Hasso Spode
Hasso Spode (born 1951 in Friedrichshagen) is a German historian and sociologist. After his childhood in East Germany, Spode fled to West Berlin where he studied philosophy, history, theology, and sociology. He is professor in Hanover and director of the Historical Archive on Tourism at the Technical University in Berlin. The main focus of his research is on historical anthropology and cultural history, but he also works in the field of social and political history. He wrote over 200 articles, mostly in German, sometimes in English (translations in Czech, Greek, Romanian, Spanish, French, Danish, Italian, Japanese, Estonian, Russian), and wrote or edited more than a dozen books. Hasso Von Wedel (general)
Hasso von Wedel (20 November 1898 – 3 January 1961) was a German general who commanded the Wehrmacht Propaganda Troops during World War II. He was directly subordinate to the head of OKW Operations Staff (''Wehrmachtführungsstab, WFSt.''), General Alfred Jodl. Wedel's Propaganda Department had control over the propaganda units and served to mediate between them and the Reich Propaganda Ministry of Joseph Goebbels. After the capitulation of Nazi Germany, Wedel was taken prisoner by US troops on 6 May 1945 and released on 18 May 1946. Wedel described his experience on war propaganda in an apologetic account written between 1957 and 1958 and published after his death under the title ''Die Propagandatruppen der Deutschen Wehrmacht'' ("The Wehrmacht's Propaganda Troops"). Oberleutnant Hasso von Wedel (12 May 1893–1945) IC began his career as a World War I flying ace credited with five aerial victories. He served as a fighter pilot during World War II; in the Battle of Britain, after a spell as a prisoner of war, he was repatriated and fought in the Battle of Berlin.
