Hassan Isse Jama
Hassan Isse Jama ( so, Xasan Ciise Jaamac) is a Somali politician and veteran. He served as the first Vice President of Somaliland and was one the founding members of the Somali National Movement. Career Hassan served in the BBC Somali Service as a broadcaster but was forced to relinquish his role at the BBC due to his SNM related activities. He also held senior positions in the SNM including Vice Chairman. Hassan studied law at Queen Mary University in London and practiced as a lawyer. In 2011, returned to political life after a 20 year absence and founded the Xaqsoor Party to compete in the 2012 Somaliland local elections, but failed to qualify and dissolved months after. Muse Bihi
Musa Bihi Abdi ( so, Muuse Biixi Cabdi, ar, موسى بيحي عبدي) (born 1948 in Hargeisa, British Somaliland, now Somaliland) is a Somaliland politician and former military officer who has been President of Somaliland since December 2017. During the 1970s, he served as a pilot in the Somali Air Force under the Siad Barre administration. In 2010, Bihi was appointed the Chairman of the ruling Kulmiye of Republic of Somaliland. In November 2015, Bihi was selected as the party's Presidential Candidate at the 5th annual central committee convention. On 21 November 2017 Muse Bihi was announced the winner of the 2017 presidential election. He officially became the President of Somaliland on 13 December 2017. Somali National Movement
The Somali National Movement ( so, Dhaqdhaqaaqa Wadaniga Soomaaliyeed, ar, الحركة الوطنية الصومالية) was one of the first and most important organized guerilla groups opposed to the Siad Barre regime in the 1980s to the 1990s, as well as being the main anti-government faction during the Somaliland War of Independence. The politics of Somaliland take place within a hybrid system of governance, which, under the Somaliland constitution, combines traditional and western institutions. The constitution separates government into an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a judicial branch, each of which functions independently from the others.
