Hasna Begum
Hasna Begum (24 February 1935 – 1 December 2020) was a Bangladeshi philosopher and feminist, and a professor of philosophy at the University of Dhaka until her retirement in December 2000. Education and career She earned her BA (1968) and MA (1969) from the University of Dhaka and her PhD (1978) in moral philosophy from Monash University, where she was the first doctoral advisee of Australian philosopher Peter Singer. The title of her doctoral dissertation was ''Moore’s Ethics: Theory and Practice''. Begum was a prolific author, and translated a number of philosophical classics into Bengali language, Bengali. Begum served as chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Dhaka from 1991 to 1994 and was appointed to the University Grants Commission (Bangladesh), University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh's Rokeya Chair in 2010. Hasna Barkat Daoud is a Djiboutian lawyer and former government minister. Career Hasna Barkat Daoud was Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism since at least 2010 under President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. In this capacity she represented Djibouti at the May 2010 Sixth Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Greater Horn Horizon Forum which discussed the role of youth, the media and non-governmental organisations in the region. Hasna Mohamed Dato (born 10 November 1959.) is a Djiboutian politician and a member of the Pan-African Parliament from Djibouti. Dato was born in Obock and is a member of the People's Rally for Progress (RPP). She was elected to the National Assembly of Djibouti in the January 2003 parliamentary election as the 35th candidate on the candidate list of the Union for a Presidential Majority (UMP) coalition in Djibouti Region. Following this election, she was chosen as the Secretary-Rapporteur of the Legislation and General Administration Commission in the National Assembly on 26 January 2003. Hasna Jasimuddin Moudud (born 1946) is a Bangladeshi writer, environmentalist and a retired politician who served as a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Noakhali-5 constituency in the 3rd and 4th parliament during 1986–1990. Hasna Sal is an American glass sculptor known for designing and sculpting large-scale glass sculptures and glass jewelry. Education and early career Sal received a diploma with distinction in journalism from the London School of Journalism before studying architecture at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated with a NAAB accredited B. Arch degree magna cum laude in 2002. She then moved to Kansas to pursue a career in architecture.
