Black Sea
The Black Sea is a marginal mediterranean sea of the Atlantic Ocean lying between Europe and Asia, east of the Balkans, south of the East European Plain, west of the Caucasus, and north of Anatolia. It is bounded by Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The Black Sea is supplied by major rivers, principally the Danube, Dnieper, and Don. Gümüşhane Province
Gümüşhane Province ( tr, Gümüşhane ili ) is a province in northern Turkey, bordering Bayburt to the east, Trabzon to the north, Giresun and Erzincan to the west. It covers an area of 6,575 km2 and has a population of 129,618 in 2010. The population was 186,953 in 2000. The name ''Gümüşhane'' means silver house. The city has a rich mining (silver and bronze) history and was the source of exports for Trabzon. The current Governor is Kamuran Taşbilek, he was appointed on the 27 October 2019. Giresun Province
Giresun Province ( tr, ) is a province of Turkey on the Black Sea coast. Its adjacent provinces are Trabzon to the east, Gümüşhane to the southeast, Erzincan to the south, Sivas to the southwest, and Ordu to the west. Its license-plate code is 28. The provincial capital is Giresun. Geography Giresun is an agricultural region and its lower areas, near the Black Sea coast. Tirebolu
Tirebolu (from the Greek word《Τρίπολις》meaning "three cities", named as such by its ancient Greek founders), is a town and district of Giresun Province, Turkey. Torul Dam
The Torul Dam is a concrete-face rock-fill dam on the Harşit River located northwest of Torul in Gümüşhane Province, Turkey. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. Construction on the dam began in 1998 and was completed in 2007. The dam's hydroelectric power plant was commissioned in 2008. Water is diverted through a tunnel and penstock on the river's north side where it reaches the power plant located about downstream. It has an installed capacity of 121.5 MW. Kürtün Dam
The Kürtün Dam is a concrete-face rock-fill dam on the Harşit River located east of Kürtün in Gümüşhane Province, Turkey. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. Construction began in 1986 and the reservoir started to fill in 2002. The dam was completed in 2003 and its underground power station became operational in 2004. The dam is connected with road tunnel, constructed to link the dam site to Kürtün. The hydroelectric power station, located below and just downstream of the right abutment of the dam, has an installed capacity of 80 MW.
