Haruka Sawamura
is a fictional character in Sega's action-adventure game series ''Yakuza''. She is introduced in the first ''Yakuza'' game as a young child searching for her missing mother, while being mysteriously pursued by multiple yakuza clans, including the Tojo Clan. Kazuma Kiryu, the main playable character throughout most of the series, protects and assists her during her search for her mother and Haruka is later adopted by him at the end of the first game. Over the course of the series, Haruka grows up alongside her adoptive father, debuting as a playable character in ''Yakuza 5'' working as an idol and eventually starting a family of her own in '' Yakuza 6: The Song of Life''. Haruka is voiced by Rie Kugimiya in Japanese and by Debi Derryberry in the English version of the first game. ''Yakuza'', also known as is a Japanese video game franchise created, owned and published by Sega. The franchise incorporates elements of the action-adventure, beat 'em up, and role-playing genres. The storyline premise for each franchise installment is typically a crime drama, with plot lines inspired by yakuza films and pre-millennial Japanese crime dramas. The most frequently featured protagonist is Kazuma Kiryu, a reformed yakuza associated with the Kanto-based Tojo Clan. While Kiryu often finds himself working with the leaders of the Tojo Clan to thwart conspiracies aimed against them, the primary theme of the series is his desire to leave the yakuza for good and start over by raising orphans and trying to assimilate into civilian life. Ryuji Goda
is a fictional character from Sega's action-adventure game '' Like a Dragon'' series, previously known as ''Yakuza'' outside of Japan, first appearing in 2006's ''Yakuza 2''. Goda also appears as one of the main characters in a spin-off title of the series, '' Yakuza: Dead Souls'', which does not follow the series' canon and is set in an alternate timeline where Goda survives his wounds at the end of ''Yakuza 2''. Goda is voiced by Masami Iwasaki in all media. Within the series, Goda is the patriarch of the Go-Ryu Clan, an organized crime yakuza group that is a subsidiary of the Omi Alliance, the dominant yakuza association based in Osaka. Ryuji is the adopted son of Jin Goda, chairman of the Omi Alliance, and is often referred to as the due to the tattoo of a golden yellow dragon on his back. ''Destructoid'' is a website that was founded as a video game-focused blog in March 2006 by Yanier Gonzalez, a Cuban-American cartoonist and author. Enthusiast Gaming acquired the website in 2017, and sold it to Gamurs Group in 2022. History ''Destructoid'' was owned by Yanier "Niero" Gonzalez so that he could attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2006. After being rejected, Gonzalez began writing original editorials and drawing cartoons which were picked up by established gaming blogs like ''Joystiq'' and '' Kotaku''. is an action-adventure video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Ryū Ga Gotoku Kenzan!
is a ''jidaigeki''-themed spin-off game in the '' Like a Dragon'' series. The game was developed and published by Sega for PlayStation 3. It was unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2007 and released in 2008. A second ''Like a Dragon'' series spin-off set in samurai era, ''Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!'', was released in 2014 on both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 systems. ''Ishin!'' is set two centuries later than ''Kenzan!'', hence the plots are not related to each other since both games focus on different characters, the historical figures of Sakamoto Ryōma (1836–1867) and Miyamoto Musashi (1584–1645) respectively. ''Dead Souls'' (russian: «Мёртвые души», ''Mjórtvyje dúshi'') is a novel by Nikolai Gogol, first published in 1842, and widely regarded as an exemplar of 19th-century Russian literature. The novel chronicles the travels and adventures of Pavel Ivanovich Chichikov (Russian: Павел Иванович Чичиков) and the people whom he encounters. These people typify the Russian middle-class of the time. Gogol himself saw his work as an "epic poem in prose", and within the book characterised it as a "novel in verse". Despite supposedly completing the trilogy's second part, Gogol destroyed it shortly before his death. Although the novel ends in mid-sentence (like Sterne's ''Sentimental Journey''), it is regarded by some as complete in the extant form.
